I am a C'as Mila bride too and our date is Aug 6th next year. We are really excited as we now have 20 family and friends who have booked their accommodation now so we know we will have some guests!
We visited Ibiza in the Summer (I'm a Spanish teacher so I used it as an excuse to practise!) and C'as Mila is absolutely beautiful. It really is a stunning venue and we were so pleased and we had paid our deposit before we had even had a look. We met Anne who was lovely and took the time to chat with us and answer the questions we had despite the fact she was clearly busy setting it all up. Candi was with the bride so we didn't meet her but she has been great with all my emails.
We spent the whole day in Cala Tarida and the beach is gorgeous - it was nice because we could also see how busy it was - although the beach had a lot of visitors it got quieter later on and the we could gradually see the venue being dressed which was lovely. The restaurant itself was quite quiet during the day and everyone there who we had a chat with, including the chef, was very friendly. There is a fancy bar underneath and we sat and had a couple of beers watching the waves and had a toast as we were exactly one year to the day from our wedding.
I hope this reassures some people like us who booked before having a chance to visit - I have a few questions myself if anyone has already married there, like did you offer a free bar and if so how much did you put back?
Hi Sadie we did a free bar for beer, wine and soft drinks. We did €500 euros at a time and the bar staff let us know when it started to run out and we did another €500. We budgeted for £3000 but in the end it only came to £1500-£2000 I think. Not 100% certain on how much in the end x
Thank you that's really helpful - how many guests did you have? I think we might do £500 and see how many drinks people get out of that as I think we only have around 25 guests, but the guestlist could be going up as it seems to every day so far!
Hi, is any other Casa Mila brides 2015 getting worried!!! I am waiting for the new forms from Candi, but just feel like i cant buy or plan anything until i no what she will have in the new year on the new forms etc. how is everyone getting on?
Thank you for your reply. Did u have to pay a location fee? Unsure what this is for and it is €3,000?
Can I ask I have been quoted €140 minimum for food per head for 85 people but this is very expensive? The quote has totalled €18,000 including location fee. Was yours the same and you negotiated or have I been given a higher quote?
Hiya Iam a Cas mila bride for 26th of May 2015 I am also getting worried I've emailed candi a few times and I've only received the automated. I want lovely Laura the saxophonist but I'm worrying that the closer it gets the more likely she is going to have other arrangements. I want to change from an evening wedding to the matinee wedding she has replied to that and said she will get in touch with the venue and see but I'm just panicking I need to know the price difference and how much lovely Laura is etc xxx
Hi, we are in the process of organising our wedding for may 2016 at Elixir. I would be interested to see the Inspiration Bible if anyone could email me a copy? Would really appreciate it as trying to work out overall costs and budget for everything. Thank you x
Here are some pics from the best day of my life back in September at Elixir! Brides-to-be who have booked their wedding abroad will not be disappointed, the whole run up to the wedding and then continuing your holiday with your nearest and dearest is just the most fun ever (if a little stressful trying to coordinate everyone!), but it truly was the most special day. Of course there were little details which go wrong (the florist forgot the freesias in my bouquet, and hairdresser went in to labour...) but nothing that the guests would've noticed and they all commented on what a stunning venue Elixir was and how good the food was.
Enjoy all your planning - I want to do it all over again!
Congrats Dani! Your pictures are beautiful and you looked stunning. Love your colour scheme!
Can I ask who did your hair and makeup? I am trying to find somebody good and would love any recommendations!
Can I also ask if it was worth hiring the parasols at Elixir? (think I can see one in a photo!) We are getting married July 2015 and although I think they're a good idea, I'm worried nobody will use them because they might block other guests view etc .
My lovely friend Rachel did my makeup which was brilliant as she was there for touch-ups throughout the day. As for hair, I had a bit of a disaster - I had booked it through Gloss Ibiza but the owner was pregnant and went in to labour early without passing my booking on to the person taking over her business, so three days before the wedding I was pretty stressed out! Luckily it was sorted in the end, but there was no time for a trial which was frustrating.
We weren't going to go for parasols as we too were worried about blocking views, but they were there anyway and the guests were very grateful for them to shade them from the sun. Despite there being a nice breeze on the terrace, the sun is very intense and some guests also used them during the speeches as some tables were partially in the sun.
We had 86 guests and went for the bbq buffet option for food as you just get so much choice and I'd heard so many good things about it, I didn't want to restrict it to just two options. Elixir don't really recommend this if you have over 60 guests due to space and timing, but it worked out fine with our numbers and people absolutely raved about the food saying it was the best wedding food they'd ever had!
One thing I would say is, at the run through, if there is anything specific you want done, make sure you have pictures of what you want. A couple of things I had in mind didn't turn out how I would've wanted (table decor arrangement, cooling station, guestbook table etc). They were of course unnoticed by guests, but I noticed them and when you've been planning it for months and months, those tiny details did bug me! Also double check the Elixir wish list each time a change is made to ensure it is exactly as you want it - some things get a little lost over email, but the team are always happy to amend things. I wouldn't recommend their florist for your personal flowers, despite going to see the flowers at the florist the day before the wedding, they still forgot one type of flower in my bouquet! The men's buttonholes were also far too heavy and impractical. Elixir have their own separate decorator for flowers at the venue which were perfect, but you can choose your own florist for bouquets, buttonholes etc.
The prop box was great fun and our guests loved that - it made for some really funny pictures too! And of course, go down to the beach for your photos, ours turned out beautifully.
Those getting married at Elixir, you have nothing to worry about - the team are fantastic on the day - Maurizio and Una were STARS and always made sure me and my husband were ok and had a drink and that the day ran smoothly, and of course Vickki's food is outstanding. Put your own special touches in to personalise the day, they have so many weddings there, it's nice to stand out a little - and they'll have everything else covered!!
Joanne, the love letters are quite a new thing at Elixir and our budget was maxed out when we heard about it so didn't go for that. That corner is quite dark so would've been a nice addition but no one really went up there after dark as it was far away from the dance floor and bar.
The cooling station was something I'd seen on the internet and thought was just a different unique idea for my guests - I had a basket of fans, suncream and three types of homemade face spritzers made from water with cucumber/mint/lavender that I found in the grounds of my villa. It was all supposed to be on one table near the ceremony for guests to use but this was something I probably hadn't explained fully so was put at the back of the venue, a bit out of the way. Oh well! Most of the decor aside from the flower arch and pew ends I did myself. I made giant tissue paper flowers to hang from the canopy and bunting saying 'eat, drink & be married' and 'happy ever after'. As well as my table plan and all the table decor. Was a lot of work in the week leading up to the wedding but worth it to know I'd put my own touch in.
Some guests made their own way to the venue but my parents arranged coaches to take our guests staying in Santa eularia, think this was through elixir though. There was a lovely breeze on the terrace so I wasn't stupidly hot during the ceremony. My dress was perfect and light and I felt really comfy. Try to steer clear of lots of layers...I couldn't have had a bigger dress (especially for the dancing!) and the boys wore waistcoats and shirts. Jackets and ties were optional for guests, it's a fun venue abroad so you want everyone to feel relaxed and enjoy it! I put some deo and other toiletries in the loos just incase!! Xx
Hi, i just wondering if anyone has had Jake from Gypsy Westwood photography for their wedding video? I wasn't planning on having a video but i have Emma from Gypsy's company for photographs and wanted to no some recommendations on Jake or any other videographer?
I went with Smack – I’m actually paying 375 euro for a full
bridal session plus trial, then a further 55 euro for each of my bridesmaids to
have their hair done. Are you including your bridesmaids in the 800 euro quote
you mentioned?
I agree it’s expensive – hopefully they’ll work wonders and
I’ll walk down the aisle looking like Miranda Kerr! J I did some research and Belissima
is the same as Smack and Louise Maxwell is 450 euro.
That was for myself 2 bridesmaids and my Mum, although it did include mani and pedi.
I have just emailed for a quote for just make up for us all, my sister is a trained hairdresser so think I can rope her in to save quite a bit of money
Are you going for any other treatments I'm finding manicures etc really over priced
Elixir September this year too
Has anyone booked their accommodation yet? We are looking for a little 1 or 2 bed apartment somewhere.. Wondered if anyone has any recommendations?
I am wondering what date you have booked cas mila for? I am looking to get married in July 2016 but have read that some venues in Ibiza do not accommodate weddings in July and August as these are their busier months. Waiting on them emailing me back
You are ten days after me jojoko84 we are the 3rd!
what is the villa you have booked called? We have made so many enquirys and noone is really coming back to us! I still have flowers and car to arrange plus all the other little bits and pieces. What about you?
Wow Beki it's exciting and so real now we are in 2015 !!
i don't think the Villa has a name it's from Owners Direct I will get the number for you
Yes I have the flowers to arrange too, and think we will just rent a car. We are using Paul Headley , Emma and Jake from Gypsy Westwood. Hair and make up Iiv not made a decision on just yet. Also not sure whether to use Vickki or Eileen for cake.
Have you any children at the Wedding ? We have 2 small children and just trying to work out how the children eat beforehand and if it works out ok. ( any previous brides done this??)
Are you doing any decor yourself I think we are leaving most to Vickki .
