It sounds wonderful and it is nerve racking because everything is done by email but I'm glad you enjoyed it
Sorry to ask but did you have to pay vat or not if you pay cash. Im sure I've read something on hear but cant find it. Also did candi supply all the little bits and bobs or did you? Oh I have so many questions lol.
Hi everyone I'm new here and looking for some advice!!
We we got engaged in December and looking to get married in ibiza... I'm on a strict ish (haha) budget of £10,000 and have looked at elixir (which I think is a minimum spend of 7,000 euros?) we also went to thomson and looked at sensatori (we've stayed in Jamaica and Mexico they are amazing) and it's worked out on buying your holiday then adding on a package starting from £999
have seen a few people say sensatori is expensive on here or is that just to stay? I'm desperate to try and sway him for elixir but his opinion is if sensatori can give us just as beautiful a wedding why should we spend more :/
I went straight to ibiza wedding shop. The sensotori use them and you'd go straight in and save the wedding planning costs, Candi is amazing and looked after everything and it was a great budget but fdor a spectacular location and day in it's self, we had 35 guests and even had the open bar for an hour and we paid less than €7000 that's with meal, drinks with meal, tapas, sangria! i#d say look at their website and speak to Candi first.
Ah thanks!!! Spoke to a lady called Leah who I contacted from the elixir website - they said that was their minimum spend. We were hoping to book for next sep 2016 but their only availability is right at the end which we didn't want
we we want to stay out in ibiza for a week while we get married so booking through thomson maybe seems the best idea if we want it at sensatori and to stay there. As you said I'm sure they get candi in to do all their coordinating for them there too!!
Where red did you stay while you got married? Did you just go with the decorations included with the package at elixir or add any in? I've seen some videos on their website it's gorgeous!!!!
How are you feeling?? I am excited and nervous as its getting close and ive still got a fair bit to sort out! I had your email addess somewhere but I cant find it, feel free to email me ***********@*******.*** to chat about where we both are with plans ( myn is 3rd Sept - ten days before yours! )
We are planning on getting married in Ibiza in June 2017.
At the moment we are looking at the packages Candi at Ibiza Wedding Shop has to offer. Has anyone any experiences of any of the other venues she has? I know Cas Mila is very popular but we really like the look of her Simplicity Beach package - has anyone had a wedding here?
We have just got back from our Wedding in Ibiza & we used "Kids in Ibiza" for our children's entertainers. We have 6 kids aged between 1-9 and they were great with them, some of the kids went home early but for the ones that stayed till the end we kept the nanny & you wouldn't have even known they were there.
The girls were lovely & did loads of activities with the little ones - I would def recommend.
our wedding was at Elixir - any Elixir brides you are in such good hands, I am still in a dream!
I didn't think they were too expensive but we didn't have 20 kids . I think it will depend on their ages too and if they are all staying all day..
i had to arrange 1 nanny for the 1 year old due to his age and then the other for the rest of the kids. I arranged 1 until 20:30 when the baby was leaving & kept the other for the whole day. They arrange an entertainment pack for each child which does bump up the cost but for me it was worth it as the kids were entertained & everyone commented on how they didn't see the kids all day as they were making things & playing
I just got married in Ibiza 2 weeks ago so still walking on a cloud! :-) I found this forum incredibly useful during the planning process and wanted to share my experience with you all to return the favour.
We got married at Cas Mila and had a total of 85 guests. The venue is beautiful with the most spectacular sunset, I only wish we had more time as it flew by!
Candi at Ibiza Wedding Shop is brilliant at what she does and you are very safe in her hands. I had been planning the wedding for 18 months and had so many ideas about the little details... Not one thing was forgotten or overlooked and the day was exactly how I imagined it (only better!).
We used Ana Lui for photography by the way, and she was brilliant! I'm waiting on the professional photos but have included a few that my friends and family took on the day below.
The venue is upmarket but still has a relaxed vibe. I will admit I had my heart set on Experimental Beach Club but it was too expensive. We opted for Cas Mila because we could afford to splash out on lots of extras for the day, which would have been a struggle if we had gone for Experimental. I have no regrets! Many of my guests commented it was the best wedding they had ever been to which is always nice to hear :-)
We went for the luxury package and then customised to our taste: - two course meal of grilled goats cheese salad (amazing!) and either fillet steak in hazelnut sauce or baked salmon in basil sauce. Everyone loved the food, it was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. - instead of dessert we had a chocolate fondue which went down a treat! We also had the cupcake tower and a wedding cake that a friend if mine made. This was more than enough food! It also meant people were up and about / dancing sooner than if we'd had the third course seated at the tables. - we had a fire show which was really good! We also booked 'Oh La La', a couple of female singers and sax player / bongos. We saw them play at a beach club previously and just had to have them at the wedding! The girls sang as I walked down the aisle which was lovely. They are very talented, let me know if you want me to send you a link to their stuff (previously called 'La Di Dah'). They played before the ceremony during the welcome drinks, on the terrace following the ceremony and during dinner. I was in awe of their talent! I know that Candi also books Lovely Laura on the sax who I have heard is equally amazing. - we also had the photo booth which was fun and the chill out gazebo on the roof of the venue with shisha pipes which I didn't get to use but many guests loved! - the vintage Rolls Royce inc in the luxury package was very nice, lovely for pics too. - we put 1000 euros behind the bar and also did a cocktail stand with Mojitos and Espresso Martinis (named after my husband and I - 'Sophie's Sparkle and Phil's Fuego' - Candi made a cute sign). We had a really young crowd and I wanted everyone to be well fed and watered! - we upgraded the centre pieces to rustic flower arrangements in mason jars as I wasn't keen on the bird cages, however looking back to the day, I'm not sure anyone even notices all these minor details I fretted so much about!
We hired the venue exclusively as there was around 85 of us. So the ceremony took place on the veranda area overlooking the ocean, then we had all the tables set up in the restaurant area. We then moved back to the veranda for the first dance etc.
The DJ moves inside at midnight until 2am due to noise restrictions but it works perfectly. The music can go really loud until 2am and dancefloor was packed. I wish it could have gone on another hour!
You will also need to budget for onward transport at 2am as it's hard to get cabs from Cala Tarida at that time.
As for hair and makeup, I can recommend both Smack and Glam Ibiza (Smack did my hair and makeup for the wedding whilst Glam did it for my hen party). Lovely girls and made me feel a million dollars! Glam even came back on the wedding day to do my nails, and also painted my four year old niece's nails for free so she could feel a part of it all. So sweet!
I can also recommend Villa KM5 booked through Villas in Ibiza. The bridal party stayed here and it's spectacular. In fact, it's my third year staying at this villa. There is an error on the website and it says it sleeps 12, it actually has 8 double bedrooms and sleeps 16. A further 4 can be accommodated in the casita / apartment on the grounds for extra $ (so capacity is 20 in total). This villa is one of my fave places on earth! :-) The main bedroom is massive with attached veranda and was perfect for 5 bridesmaids plus me to get ready in. It's also very luxe without costing a fortune.
this is my first post on here! I'm a cas mila bride due to be married in June 2016.
I wonder if any of you can offer me any advise on where your wedding party (and close relatives) stayed/are staying in the run up to your weddings please?
There doesn't seem to be a huge amount of choice in the vicinity of the venue so we are now looking a little further afield. We would ideally like apartments in a complex so we have the option of eating there and not going self catering every day....does this even exist?!
Hi everyone! This is my first post on here so I hope some of you will be able to help and advise me!! I have been engaged since February this year and I want to get married in Ibiza in late August/Early September 2017. I have narrowed down to a few venues which I am really interested in and I have booked flights out this September to go and have a look at them and hopefully meet up with the wedding planners, Candi/Vickki etc to try and get something booked! The venues I am looking at are: Cas Mila (top choice at the moment) Elixir Pura Vida Ses Roques I am trying to stick to a pretty tight budget and so was wondering if there were any of you who have had weddings at these venues or have booked to have your wedding at these venues that could help advise me which offer the best packages etc for the price?? I want about 30 people so it will be a small affair!! I also need to think about places for guests to stay that are around the areas of these venues so if anyone has any good hotel/villa ideas that would be much appreciated!! Literally any help and advice from anyone that has done this would be great before I fly out to Ibiza in September I want to feel a little prepared and hopefully book something while we are over there! There is so much to think about but at the same time it is also very exciting!! This forum seems really helpful and I am going to sit and read through other posts to get some advice also! Love, Emma X
We had our wedding at Elixir a couple of weeks ago, it was fantastic! So exciting for you now.
Everything about Elixir was wonderful so you would be in good hands but I think there is a minimum spend there so not sure on the numbers.
Most of our guests stayed in the Marina Palace in Port Des Torrent which was a really good location for Elixir & it is also not far for Cas Mila. Everyone was very happy with their stay there & there were a range of rooms to choose from budget wise. I stayed there too the night before the wedding & the wedding night.
happy planning - where ever you choose it will be amazing
I am going to view both Cas Mila and Elixir when I am out in Ibiza in September as they are my favorite 2 at the moment I have heard good things about both of them and it is good to know someone that has got married at Elixir recently and can recommend them!
I will have a look at that hotel and others in that area thank you! It gives me place to start!
I will let you know which venue I pick once I have been there, so excited - I'm sure your wedding was amazing and congratulations!
Hi everyone, been back from our wedding almost two weeks now and thought I would chat a little about our beautiful day.
We had our wedding at Elixir and it was everything we wished for and more. Vickki and Leah were a dream to deal with during the planning staged and Una and Mercutio (spelling - sorry?) made sure the day ran smoothly and that our drinks were always topped up. All of our guests were blown away by the venue, the food and the service. Even our suppliers were raving about their meals.
We had a friend come out to do our photography as felt the prices in Ibiza for photographers were a bit out of our budget. Our friend is a professional and we loved her style of photography.
We also had our videographer travel from England, Adam Galwas Productions for the same reason as above. They were an absolute dream as we didn't even notice they were there! Definitely recommend these guys for anyone who is looking outwith Ibiza for their videography.
I booked Smack make up for my bridal party and the mothers plus my aunt. Sara and Corina were fab and the rest of the team working for them were amazing. My make up did not move at all during the day and it was 38 degrees and extremely humid!!! My hair stayed in place despite some crazy dancing and a strong breeze. Smack are definitely worth the money.
We used Taste Ibiza to book transport for our guests. Roy who owns the company (or manages it) was excellent to deal with and made sure everything ran smoothly on the day. Great prices also for buses/vans.
I booked Rodrigo at Ibiza bus for our wedding car. It was a 78 Mercedez and it was stunning (my dream car!!)
For music we booked Brian Beezwax - he understood what we wanted 100%, managed all of our requests, somehow including Riverdance!!! (random I know). We also booked the Lovely Laura for during the day, she played some chill out jazz style music which really suited the venue and the general vibe we wanted for during the day. She is also genuinely they loveliest person ever!!
All of our guests stayed in Playa d'en Bossa, most guests staying in Club Bahamas. Right next to the beach and a lovely hotel, also close to Ibiza town and the airport.
Genuinely had the best time of my life and can't believe it's all over. If there's anything I can suggest it is just to soak it all up on the day. I hope you all have lovely weddings and if anyone has any questions about mine or needs any advice, please ask away
Im getting married in Ibiza in July 2016. I'm debating whether to do the registry office in UK before or when we come back. I feel if I do it before then the actual day won't feel special but if I do it after we won't actually legally be husband and wife on the day.
Did you tell your guests it wasn't actually legal and was called a blessing? Someone said to me that it isn't fare for guests to pay out a lot of money to come abroad and not even see you be married legally? Even though I am classing it as my wedding day and the legal part at home will just be us and our parents?
Any advice or previous experience will be much appreciated.
We are getting married in the UK 10 days beforehand, so that when we have our ceremony in Ibiza we will actually be man and wife everybody we have invited knows that we are legally getting married in the UK beforehand, and that we consider the Ibizan ceremony to be "the one". I don't think it's "unfair" to invite people abroad, because if you think it's the real deal, why shouldn't they?!
We're not exchanging rings in the UK, so that makes Ibiza different. We are inviting all family to the UK because not all can afford to fly out to Europe, so we're having a very small "reception" fora couple of hours, and I'll be wearing a smart white dress. Every couple is different and I just think you have to go with what feels right for you and your fiancé.
Wow Elsey your day sounds amazing! I have my wedding there in SIX WEEKS!! arrghh!! So nervous/excited!!!
We would have loved to have gone for Lovely Laura but she was fully booked on the day of our wedding so have deicded to go for a spanish saxophonist from Ibiza Wedding shop - not heard much about him but hopefully he'll be good!
I also liked the sound of Smack so have gone for them for both hair & make-up for me, my bridesmaids and MOB.
Can I ask if you bought your parents gifts to give at the wedding? Flowers would be the usual thing but abit pointless in Ibiza as will be flying home a few days later.
We felt abit weird about this also but we really wanted to get married in Ibiza so its just one of the cons ( a lot of pros about having your wedding by the sea! ) so what we are doing is having one witness each ( our mums ) literally going to do the ceremony part in casual clothes, not making big thing or exchanging rings then going straight from the registery office to the airport! We will be having dinner alone together than night in Ibiza to 'celebrate' together before having our wedding day at Elixir 4 days later.
We got married in the UK 2 weeks before we flew to Ibiza, it was just family, registry office & a meal/drinks after. I was t expecting it to feel like a real wedding but was blown away by such a wonderful day. We did exchange rings but took them off in the Monday after.
we always classes Ibiza as our "real" wedding and although our friends knew it was blessing they all counted it as our wedding too. There is not once on my Ibiza day that I didn't feel special - everything about it was wonderful. With the UK one I didn't really have any build up so didn't really feel like a bride until I put my dress on (which was just from the high street).
I don't agree at all that it's not fair for people to fly to Ibiza and not see you get legally married as Ibiza and not see you get legally married, only difference is you have a blessing ceremony.
So we've gone ahead and paid our deposit to secure our date for 3rd September 2016 at sensatori resort!!! We've stayed in various other sensatoris and loved them and know us and our guests will be well looked after.
For our guests who choose not to stay in the hotel, there is a 75e fee for the all inclusive bar after our meal (which we have paid for drinks during). Our parents will be staying in a villa and we will be paying their fee, however can't afford to pay for everyone. I'm not sure how to go about informing guests that they need to pay this however my h2b says he'd be quite happy with this since we recently spent over £200 at the bar at our friends wedding recently.
annoying that we can't just have a normal bar which we'd be happy to put money behind!!
I got married in Cas Mila one year ago- celebrated our anniversary yesterday
There are only two hotels near Cas Mila and it's quite a small tourist resort- few restaurants and bars etc. Most of our guests actually stayed in either a villa or the cove side of San Antonio Bay- so not West end side, but more beyond Ocean Beach Club.
We used ibizahire.com to book our villa- they're a UK based company with offices in the UK and Ibiza and very thorough/contactable. They provide all sorts of services and are on hand when you're in Ibiza too; they liaised with my hair and make up people(Gloss) to make sure they got to the villa and back. They also appeared on the day of the wedding with nibbles and champagne!
