I am new to the site, but all of your posts have been super helpful! I am looking for a little bit of advice if poss, and can share my experiences too!
Can anyone recommend a good make up artist and hair dresser? I have emailed a few online, however would rather have someone used and trusted, as really don't want any last minute mishaps.
We are getting married at Pura Vida on 29th May this year, it is a stunning venue and cant wait to see it again. The team are super helpful, always on hand to help us with even the smallest questions. We have 85 guests, the venue have organised coaches for us to make it a little easier, they have sorted the DJ, Sheun the registraar, a saxophonist, cake, flowers etc.
We have our own photographer and Marryoke-ographer, flying over with us.
In terms of venues, we looked at Cas Mila and Amante beach. Both were stunning, but it really was the team and staff at Pura Vida that sold it for us, they have been fantastic. We have also had our tasting menu, the food was outstanding! Cant wait for our guests to taste it too!
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to get in touch! Thanks!
Loads of my Bride's have used Smack and they've always been very happy :-)
Let me know if you want me to try and put you in touch with any of them, I'm sure they would be happy to share photos etc.
Georgina Withers is also an excellent hairdresser and has a range of wedding day relaxation treatments too, which some of the wedding planners are very passionate about - for obvious reasons!!
I've DJed at many Pura Vida weddings (pretty much everywhere else too!) - feel free to get in touch if you've got any questions and want an unbiased answer.
I am also getting married at Pura Vida but in September. You haven't got long at all. Would love to hear how your day goes. I am using Smack Ibiza for make up
Hi sian, could I ask how did you find the ceremony on the beach?! Was there previous guests on loungers at this point?!
do you have any advice with regards to the planning at Pura Vida? We are getting married there in September and I am very excited but nervous as I don't know what to plan myself and what exactly I will get from the restaurant?
Oh yay another September bride! I've found the organisation ok so far. I've tried to do a lot myself. Only thing I'm a little worried about is that they have uploaded a video on their website from a wedding in September where people are on their sun loungers taking pictures etc! I've found them really helpful with suggestions though. If you have anything left to organise I have some contacts I can send over etc x
Hi ladies, I'm on the island from Monday 19th September for a week and a half if anyone still needs a photographer! I shoot weddings mainly in London but I go on holiday every year to Ibiza, thought I might as well start branching out and photographing some beautiful weddings while I'm there
My friend had a beach wedding (Caribbean) and so she didnt have to wear wedding shoes on the beach (imagine the sand in shoes!!) she and her bridesmaids had some barefoot jewelry/sandals.
She got them from Here and they looked amazing because she had a shorter dress (again cos of sand) and still had something lovely on her feet, plus she could wear shoes with them for the evening (inside)!
Hi everyone
I have read all the forum so far and it's really helpful but I have a few more questions and would love any advice!
We are getting married in can gall early July and want to book it all ourselves rather than go through wedding planners. We have a couple of catering quotes but can't find many reviews - flying pig Ibiza, Patricia at serveis culinaris and The Chef. We want a very relaxed Bbq.
i am also locking down a dj so any recommendations very welcome!
lastly, we are looking at how we decorate - if anyone has been married at can gall can you let me know is this something the planners dos for you or did you do it yourself and how easy was it to source candles, vases etc once on the island. We will be there a week before so have time!
any other tips really welcomed it's hard to know where to start!
Hi Browny, I'm one of Santi's recommended DJ's at Can Gall and I've done hundreds of weddings all over the island in the last 10yrs so feel free to send me a message and ask me anything.....
There are now hundreds of people in the wedding business on Ibiza, Santi (From Can Gall) recommends people he knows and can trust. Flying Pig, have been catering for some years now and they are excellent for a 'laid back BBQ'. Beeswax - again known and trusted, I would highly recommend him he plays a wonderful selection of music suitable for all ages so he gets everyone up and dancing!!, You will find lots of people have left good reviews all over the internet about both of these guys.
It does all depend on your budget regarding decoration, you can ask a 'stylist' try Danielle of 'Velvet Circus' she is excellent... or your florist will organize decoration, or you can go shopping, we have plenty of places on Ibiza, but unless you go to the 'Chinese cheapie shops' you will find items quite expensive.
Can Gall is beautiful, Santi sets everything out lovely, so you certainly don't need very much, except of course some beautiful flowers.
I am getting married at Elixir next year and haven't been sent the 'bible' yet. Can anyone let me know who is good in Ibiza for wedding cakes? Everything gets booked up so far in advanced I wanted to pick a supplier and get my date penciled in!
I'm getting married at Elixir this year you won't get your bible until the end of this season so around November 1st. Vicky who runs Elixir is an amazing pastry chef and does lots of cake options which you can decide on the March before your wedding, unless you want something really elaborate, but to be honest with the heat in Ibiza something simple is better. Good luck planning Elixir is a lovely venue I can't wait for my wedding.
Thanks for you message, I remember them mentioning Vicki was a pastry chef so I will hold off and use Elixir for the cake. I thought the bible was sent out in May, damn longer to wait!
I am also getting married at Elixir in 2017 and I thought Vicki mentioned to me that the bible would be sent out in the spring so maybe it will be, if not I suppose we will have to wait! I am also going to use Elixir for my cake to be honest they seem to be very knowledgeable with everything especially with Vicki being a chef!
Also are you going to the tasting day in October? If so have you already let Vicki know? I want to go but haven't done anything about it yet lol.
I have booked a photographer...Matt Morgan - he is reasonably priced and has done lots of weddings at Elixir so maybe worth a look? He already has over 10 bookings for 2017 already! It's hard to know what to start booking this early in advance isn't it!
Thanks for the info, fingers crossed it is spring, I want to start planning :-D!
Yes i am going to the tasting in Oct, I have let Vicki know and we have booked our flights - I'm excited for that.
We have booked Ana Lui for our photography - love her work, but thanks for the tip.
I wanted to book a certain sax player but Elixir said i had to use one of the two they recommend which I found a bit annoying, has anyone else been restricted by Elixir by approved suppliers?
You girls might be lucky and get yours early they said it would be at the end of the season so they can put new ideas in and also they are so busy during the season they can only dedicate to the current years brides. We have to fill out all our bits by the 1st of March for our October wedding, you girls have plenty of time.
ive not had any problems really I wanted lovely laura but didn't want to pay for her and her do to play a pre recorded set! I contacted a guy my friend used at her Ibiza wedding as he was fantastic turns out he is one of Elixir recommended ones he has been fab and is going to play loads of bits we want, my other half is a dj so it was important he would play to our likes. We are also having a magician and I'm sourcing all my own table decorations.
im so excited our wedding day is also the last ever day Space is open so we are heading there after in all our wedding stuff! X
Ah your wedding sounds fab bet you are excited it's coming round now! And you are right we have loads of time yet my wedding isn't until the August of 2017 so will just wait patiently for the bible!
And Chanelle I will email Vicki then to let her know we want to come on the tasting day then will have a look at flights! Exciting! ah Anna Lui is amazing I emailed her but she was already booked on my date so I could of had her second in line photographer but after speaking to Matt he seemed right for what we wanted. I'm unsure about any other restrictions Elixir have but others that have already had their weddings there may know and be able to let us know!
Good luck with the rest of your planning, may see you in October!
Any other Elixir or Ibiza brides got any recommendations on blessers for the ceremony?
Hi everyone,
This is my first post on here having very recently got engaged! We are looking at getting married next summer (2017) and having researched loads online we have our hearts set on cas Mila and plan to view it next month. I have 2 queries, firstly is 16 months long enough to plan a wedding? And secondly I am confused with the ceremony timings available...it seems most people get married late at 6pm ish or I think cas Mila have a matinee option but seems as though that ends at 5pm. I ideally wanted to get married at 3/4pm ish and for it to go on until 11/12pm ish but don't know if this is possible in Ibiza? Any help and advice would be much appreciated xx
Cas Mila is a lovely venue we stayed in a nice apartment just over the road last year. The reason they do late ceremony's is the weather it can be so hot even around 4pm. 16 months is plenty of time nothing really happens until the year before. We're getting married in October and only really started all the major decisions now. X
