my wedding is booked at Elixir for July next year but just wondering what people's thoughts were re the option for a 3 hour or 4 hour disco. The longer one meaning the ceremony is at 3.30pm or the shorter evening starting at 4.30pm. I was originally swaying towards 4.30pm as don't want it to be too hot whilst I'm getting married but now I'm starting to think that a 3 hour disco wouldn't be long enough?
any opinions/advice would be great to help me decide
we marry in Elixir this July and are staying at the Sansatori in Cala Tarida. We have two young children but have many relatives attending with no children so wanted a family friendly hotel but that wasn't totally child based like the holiday villages. Best of both worlds then.
We told imidate family (mums/brothers etc) were we were planning on staying and all joined us.
We then sent out invites with details of where we booked and options of other areas and hotels so there was no pressure for others to stay in our hotel but the option was there.
We now have 21 people staying with us and about 20 others in various hotels/apartments on the island.
I'm am currently trying to arrange a pre/post wedding get together so I can see everyone.
Ive read this thread from the beginning ? Took a while and although my weddings this July a lot of my worries were eased.
I read a post where someone recommend apartments in Cala Tarida - got some guests booking now and looking for a two night stay. Any suggestions would be great.
Cant scroll though the whole thread agin to find it!
Hi I think it might have been me who mentioned the apartments her is a link http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/ibiza-elephant-cala-tarida.en-gb.html
you can find them on most rental websites and you can tell by the pool as there are quite a lot to rent in the block. There new, clean and loads of space x
It's unusual for many guests to be inside until the very end at the Elixir weddings so I'd say the shorter option is probably better, especially as it will be so hot at 3:30.
See if you can get some feedback from other brides that have already had their wedding there, but usually the guests go outside to enjoy the sunshine straight after the first dance and you obviously can't hear any music out there so they tend to just chill out for a couple of hours and then come inside towards the end once it gets dark and/or cold.
My wedding is booked at Elixir for July next year too! I had originally planned to do the 4 hour disco but think I'm going to have to opt for the 3 hours too. I've been told that church ceremonies are usually around 5pm because it is so warm, therefore priests are reluctant to perform the ceremony before then. I don't know how we'll even manage to fit in 3 hours of dancing!
Have you looked at any accommodation yet for 2017?
Aargh!! Since we got engaged last August we have had our hearts set on Cas Mila. We went
to the travel agents and were to,d nothing can be done till April this year when flights come out
we have recently been looking at booking independently through a wedding planner and have now
been told that Cas Mila is completely booked for next August! ???
it was just the venue but it was also reasonably priced as we also have a family of 4 holiday to pay for as well as the wedding of 60 guests. Has anyone got any suggestions as to reasonable alternatives
and possibly where to look?
we want an late afternoon symbolic ceremony due to the heat?
Congratulations on your Elixir Wedding! I am getting married there next August I can't wait! We have opted for the 4.30pm ceremony mainly because I don;t want it too hot for the ceremony and I think the evening will be plenty long enough with a 3 hour disco!
What are your opinions on accommodation? I am starting to look now but any recommendations would be great!
Was also wondering which blesser any Elixir brides had at their weddings as am looking to get one booked soon but would love to know if any previous brides have any recommendations of a good person to to do the ceremony!
Hi Ladies,
Im getting married at Cas Mila next year. just wondered where other Ibiza brides are staying? are you going for a villa or hotel? we cant decide!
Cas Mila bride, no I haven't used any of the stationary. I booked through Ibiza wedding shop but I'm taking my own table names and holders as I'm making them myself. We bought a fairly small guest book from hobbycraft which we'll be taking with us.
Rose_tree, we have decided to stay in an all inclusive hotel not too far from the venue. My sister has two young children, my fiancés family are coming over from Dubai and we're all arriving and leaving on different days so we thought the easiest open on would be to each book separately and that easy we all get our own space too. We're staying at hotel sirenis club aura. A few of our guests are staying at club Cala tarida for a long weekend, that's a short walk from the venue.
RomanticBrownCars, congratulations on your engagement! How exciting that you're doing an Ibiza wedding too! We booked our flight and hotel with Thomson but the wedding through Ibiza wedding shop (who I believe Thomson use anyway). We were quite late in booking so I went direct to Candi (owner of IWS) to confirm the date.
I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine this weekend.... I'm using this weekend to get a base tan before our wedding.....only 5 weeks now!??x
Hi Eileen, do you know what other caterers Santi works with for a more formal dinner. I am struggling to get information from him and we really love the venue?
Does anyone know what availability is like for cas mila next year are they booked up already? ?
We're hoping to book for end may/beginning of June.
Can anyone recommend any good all inclusive hotels that won't be too far to travel to the venue but it also within walking distance of shops bars restaurants etc?? Xx
I'm not sure if it's booked up at that time but I know August is booked up already as I'm one of them! We have booked in at Family Life Club Aura hotel which isn't far from the venue. There's also the holiday village next door.
Have you looked at El Chringuito in Cala Gracioneta??
It's lovely and it's right on the beach - I honestly think it's much nicer than Cas Mila so you definitely won't be disappointed!!! Very affordable too.
Also it's one of very few venues that looks different every time rather than identical weddings with different people.
im getting married at elixir this year, I dont think they send out the bibles until the end of season so around oct/Nov time. Then you have until March to fill it out. I could send you this years if you wanted to have a nose they just might have some newer ideas x
Chanelle I am also getting married at Elixir in 2017. I was told we would be sent the 'food and drinks bible' at the end of May and the 'decor bible' im Nov/Dec. nadia x
I am also getting married at Elixir in2017. Could you possibly forward the Wedding bible to me too. My email is ******************@*******.**.**. Nadia x
Hello, we got married at Can Gall a few weeks ago and it was the best decision we ever made! It's still a hidden gem when it comes to the wedding market so I'm almost reluctant to talk about it. We used The chef for our wedding food and could not recommend them enough, they were the talk of the wedding as the food was outstanding.
Communication can be difficult if you don't speak spanish but we managed and everything was perfect
Have a great wedding- I'm so jealous as wish we could do it all again
I'm so happy to read this message I could cry!! We have booked Can Gall for next year and also The Chef! Their menus were just fantastic. I'm so pleased your wedding was everything you dreamed of! So far the organising is going well with the suppliers. Can I ask who you used for your photography and to conduct the ceremony? Xxx
I've booked to get married at Cas mila june 2017. I am wondering what entertainment to have. Any suggestions? I think I will have a guitar playing while we are eating. But then I want something for after the meal? Also there will be about 15 children, what entertainment would anyone put on for the chilren between 18months - 10 yrs.
Also it is a BBQ type meal, has anyone had this? If so, was it served to you? I don't like the idea of people having to queue up.
Also the photographer included in the package, does anyone know ther name?
A lot of questions but I am reading all this forum and my mind and ideas is going over board!! no sleep for me tonight hahaha
We started planning our wedding for September 2017 and are not sure yet if we will have our wedding in Ibiza or in Curacao. I know, it are completely different islands, but my fiancee is from Curacao, that's why we are looking into that too.
I was just wondering if anyone has experience with Best Ibiza Villas or with Viilla Seashell in Curacao. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
