Planning Timeline

Poppy, 19 June, 2025 at 19:45 Posted on Planning 0 8
Hi everyone!
I have recently got engaged and we have decided on 2028 as the year to get married. The wedding planning space is quite overwhelming but I’m so excited to get going with it.
If you planned a wedding with a 3 year wait- what was your timeline? I don’t want to start too early or leave things too late. Help please 🫶🏻✨

We had a very short timeline, but I've helped friends with longer timelines, and on the basis of their weddings, I would say the first things to start with would be booking your venue and then suppliers such as caterers and photographers. I'd wait on things like dress and accessory shopping until you're a bit nearer, as even if you're not bothered about having something that's the latest fashion, you might find that both your tastes and your body shape change in three years.

I'd also suggest holding off on asking people to be in your wedding party until you are closer to the day - I've seen so many posts from people who 'booked' their bridesmaids a couple of years before the wedding only for relationships to change and they end up either with a bridesmaid they don't want or having to ask someone to step down!

    Congratulations!
Planning a 2028 wedding gives you the perfect runway—start with vision, budget, and venue research now, then pace major bookings over the next 12–18 months. Final details can wait until 2027. Enjoy the journey! dog sounds

Saw someone mention plinko in a random Reddit comment. Curiosity got the better of me, so I looked it up. I liked how it doesn’t pretend to be something complex—you drop the chip and cross your fingers. I started with small bets and got burned a couple times, but then had one perfect drop that basically made my session worth it. Felt good to end on a high note.

Really helpful breakdown — I always underestimate how much pre-planning saves time in the long run. When it comes to grinding and optimizing routes, especially in combat-heavy sessions, checking numbers ahead really helps. I’ve been using this handy tool for DPS calculation OSRS , and it’s saved me from so many trial-and-error setups . Worth a look if you're building a long-term combat strategy.

Hey! We got engaged last year and are planning a 2027 wedding. Book your venue earlier as some might still honour the prices of the year before if they haven't released their pricing for that year! We have slowly began sending the save the dates just so it does not feel like FOREVER til the big day. There's not real timeline as to how things should be done I'd say the more time to budget and save the better. Hope this helps!

Congratulations on your engagement! Planning with a longer timeline is a great opportunity to pace things out and really enjoy the process. One thing that helped me stay on track while juggling other hobbies was using tools that made tracking and comparisons easier — I found this Kogama Trade Tool Free quite handy for organizing and estimating values (in a different context, but super efficient!). Maybe build a similar system for your wedding planning — it keeps things fun and structured!
