Poll - Pimm's vs Champagne

PennyFarthing, 2 July, 2009 at 13:52 Posted on Planning 0 27

For welcome reception drinks that is....

Would you prefer Pimm's or Champagne - I just can't decide and am erring on the side of Pimm's as Sainsbury's has the litre bottles on sale for £10 at the mo and I'm thinking of getting some for storing till next May.

So what do you think?

TIA - Penny

Waaah! don't beat about the bush will ya!

(aside) you know those mason jars you're after - have you found any yet? Not that this is necessarily any help but I'm collecting the large hexagonal jars for my wedding - they're really quite thick glass - to use for flowers. If after my wedding you want them, you're more than welcome (aside)

I can't stand the taste of pimms, I've seen it;s a bit like marmite...you're either a lover or a hater.

    I wouldn't mind a bucks fizz option! ?

Im having pimms as welcome drink and then a champagne toast after the ceremony, for the toast / speeches im using a cheaper sparkling prosecco wine as after a heavy meal you can't tast the champagne anyway so i feel it is a waste, although i will be drink champagne all day my perogative being bride i think!!!!

I've lost count now, you girlies are too fast at responding!

M&S do a fabby rose prosecco - "Prosecco Raboso" I think it's called. It's yummy and may be another option alongside our Pimm's!

I LOVE pimms and champers !! so can I vote for both !!

if its sunny then an icy pimms goes down a treat but you cant beat something sparkly for a celebration !!

sorry that doesnt help at all ?

BTW for info we are having champers and pimms at our wedding and I intend on having at least a few glasses of each !! ?

Just for info - this is what the Prosecco Raboso looks like:-

and it's on offer as well for bottles of 12 - even better - http://www.marksandspencer.com/gp/search?field-keywords=prosecco&node=42966030&viewID=all-product-search

although you can buy it individually (and no i'm not on commission!)
