Nope, she's definitely a burger. A bit of digging revealed she changed to Lucinda Ledgerwood when she set up a dating agency - more businesslike apparently.

This is pretty much universal knowledge, but the first fired candidate Nicholas De Lacy Brown added the "De Lacy" to make him sound posher.

What might be less well known is that a wall fell on him the other day...

I'm constantly surprised by how unbothered Suralan is about lies. I thought Lee would be fired for sure for lying about his university (quite a big lie, really, for which he hardly apologised) and I remember thinking similar thoughts in the past about people like Syed. I wondered whether this was just me- my background is in a field in which you'd be fired and possibly struck off for a stunt like that, so maybe I'm over-sensitive to it and I'm sure the ability to bullshit is quite highly valued in many industries- or is Suralan genuinely surprisingly accepting of dishonesty?

I think in the commercial world lying about academic qualifications is really common and a way in so to speak. Personality is far more important in business (in my opinion and going by past experience) and so I think sir alan was right to not really be bothered by it.

I guess it depends on the lie, but that one, is understandable and very forgiveable in my opinion.

I wouldn't tolerate a lie on a CV and I don't think it's all that common where qualifications are concerned as they're easily checked (and I do check). You can always catch people out when they've exaggerated job descriptions and responsibilities too.

He seems to be a lot tougher on underhand tactics - Chinny McGinger (or whatever her name is) was fired pretty much the second he found out that she'd been trying to sabotage the other team's chances.

That said, Alex has been allowed to stay on despite being a toe-curlingly flagrant grass. Then again, he does speak fluent English, which is a rare skill in the business world.

I've taken to calling her Chinny McGinger too, so bad, yet.....?
