Postpone or cancel wedding

Rosie, 17 February, 2024 at 21:00 Posted on Planning 0 1
Hello everyone, apologies this is a bit of a gloomy message. Sadly we were due to have our wedding this June but for a variety of reasons (including financial, family issues and mainly the fact we are just not getting on at the moment) we have decided not to marry as we both don't feel ready.

We both hope things will get easier in time, we still love each other and hope to marry next year with a smaller wedding.
However, we are in a dilemma about the suppliers. All the suppliers are happy for us to postpone with no penalty fees, our only concern is if we were to postpone to next year and we decided not to have our wedding would suppliers charge us penalty fees for both this year and next? In summary, we are wondering if it is worth taking the risk and postponing or cancelling altogether which means we will need to pay the booking fees again. Any advice would be appreciated x

For the new postponed date you should have new contracts from each supplier so the commitments / penalties should be to the new contract and not the old. But best to check this with suppliers.
