PP Wearing your dress again - wedding dress balls?

alabastamasta, 24 of June of 2014 at 21:58 Posted on Planning 0 13

Pointless post alert!

I want to wear my dress again! I've heard of some bridal shops doing dress balls; are there any that aren't shop specific? Might be fun to organise one!

Does anyone else want to wear theirs again?

So this is actually a 'thing'?

I need this in my life.

Last time around I wore my dress twice after the wedding; once to a fancy dress party and then to a party where everyone paid £5 to whatever charity it was and wore their/a bridal/bridesmaid gown.

Are you volunteering? I'm a bit far away to attend (and not married yet) but I love the idea of a Hitched OM Bridal gown meet........imagine the post event flashes!

    Do it!

We tried to organise a Hitched one in London last year with a few of our resident togs but never got it off the ground sadly.

There is a charity ball every year - The Moth Ball?

p.s. on a wedding forum, therefore a post about wedding dresses cannot be a 'pointless post'???

A bunch of women all in their wedding dresses in the same room is a bit cringe worthy!

I wouldn't find it cringe worthy. I'd get all giddy and go a bit squuuuuuueeeeeeeee and hyper. I love the idea, as it's very very silly ?

Thought it might be slightly PP as it's not planning, and is more for OMs, I guess!

I dunno; I think it could be hilarious rather than cringeworthy, depends on the type of people attending I suppose! Smiley tongue

I recall a friend telling me about this charity one in Sheffield: https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Brides-Ball-Sheffield/391361004301769

Ha, could be fun, the photo's would be so bizarre!
