Prep in the run up

Sarah, 1 January, 2023 at 17:12 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 5

Hi all, I’m getting married in April (feels very soon!) and because I’m a teacher and can’t book time off, I’ll be working right up to the day before my wedding.

I’m confident that I’ll have time to get everything sorted in terms of organisation, and my fiancé is taking the week in the run up off so he’s going to do the heavy lifting in terms of making sure everything gets where it needs to be etc.

However what he can’t do is any of my personal prep for me! As I work long hours and will be limited for time, ideally I’d like any appointments for nails, waxing etc to be done the weekend before, but because I’m not someone who normally gets anything like those done, I have no idea how long they’ll last and therefore if I need to try to fit them in after work somehow closer to the actual wedding? Or just say sod it, I’ll just paint my own nails and get a better razor! I guess none of it is really essential, or is it?!

Waxing and hair colour can be done the weekend before, nails are the only things I would say to do 2 days before, can you get an evening appointment somewhere, lots of salons do late night on Thursday and Friday where Ilive. If you are getting gel then they will be ok just don't do washing up to to much with your hands! Same if you are getting a tan, 2-3 days before as you need to allow for development time

I'd book a wax the week before, or maybe 4 days before, just so your skin calms down. I'm blotchy for a full day after a wax.
I'm getting my hair cut 4 weeks before the wedding. Nails couple of days before.

I got my nails done 2 days before but I got gel polish so it was completely protected from chips by the time I left and lasted for weeks looking exactly like they had just been done. With gel polish you will be fine getting them done the weekend before, it just depends how quickly your nails grow before you start getting that strip of new nail showing.

Thank you guys - with pretty much everything else wedding related I feel like I know what I’m doing, but really value your input on this!
