Present/survival kit for uni, help please.

elmo, 11 September, 2008 at 12:10 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 16

My little sister is off to uni next week and I wanted to do a bit of a survival kit type gift for her with some handy things in but some funny things too. [booze, matchsticks for eyes for when she has to work late etc]

She is in catered accomodation so food is pretty much covered, so does anyone have any suggestions of what i can put in it?

?

elmo.

Flu powders, caffeine tablets, alcohol (maybe some minitures?), joss sticks (all students need these), a poster, a photo of you both in a frame.

I still have the hot water bottle that my next door neighbour gave me when I went to uni (years ago!).

I know you said food was covered, but I think this is such a great present:-

Other than that, would second condoms and alcohol for a survival kit, and maybe some coffee?

    Oooh all excellent suggestions, thanks!

Mbk will have a look for that book, although I don't think her steady boyfriend would be best pleased if I put condoms in ? so I'll probably pass on that one.

    any more ideas?

SJesus that is a good idea, besides I'm sure cake isn't really food, no calories when you close your eyes etc.

Stuff to help her survive Freshers Flu might also be appreciated.

Chester? Does that mean she's going to be in Holloaks??!?

    I would include:

Mug and satchets of hot chocolate

bisuits - you can't ever go wrong with biscuits

    hot water bottle

    joss sticks and holder

photo in frame - this sounds a great idea

alarm clock (you woudn't believe the number of people in my halls who didn't have one!)

alcohol (whatever you think she'd like)

maybe a glass or two (plastic wine glasses?)

    paracetamol

wee first aid kit with wipes and plasters (really useful when away from home for first time)

    pro - plus for revision

Scarf if she is heading somewhere up north (it is alreasy jumper weather up here in Edinburgh)

    She's hoping. ?

apparently some of the cast are there for one of the freshers nights, so she is very excited.

Dull suggestions - but a mini first aid kit (plasters, savlon, party feet thingies etc). How about a calendar?
