Problem with passport and birth certificate for CNI

HappyYellowFlowers532, 7 of January of 2018 at 19:15 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 0

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can help me. I am getting married in Italy in June so have been looking at starting the process for a CNI however I have a problem as my passport and birth certificate names don’t match! I have always used my passport name (as has all my family as this is what it was on the original, hence how I could get a passport in this name in the first place!) However my original birth certificate was lost and when I requested a replacement it has a letter missing, so I am SH, not SCH on my BC. I’ve tried everything without reverting to change of name by deed poll but that’s just how it is.

Anyway I was told I can get a CNI with the SCH spelling no problem as your passport is the most important document however for the legalisation part where it’s sent to Milton Keynes it states you also have to send in your long birth certificate?

Can anyone advise?

Thanks in advance!
