Q re: change of name for driving license before passport?

I have just had my driving licence back after changing to my married name. I have a UK passport which is still in my maiden name, and there was no problem at all - I sent in my marriage certificate and allowed them to look at digital passport (so didn't send it off).

I won't be changing my passport until it expires - will just have to remember to book flights in my old name!!

In a lot of countries you can't change your name on your passport anyway, so I guess you'll be fine. You could also just leave it until you change your passport name.

I was hoping that might be the case, but I wasn't 100% sure. The point about waiting til the passport expires is very valid, actually; it's just such a palaver, having to book a day off work and go to London to the Swedish embassy to then have them ummm and aaah about the whole situation; I only got my name changed officially back in October as I had to send off a name change request form to the Swedish Authorities, and 4 forms went missing in the post (!!!!!!!!!), one I hadn't filled it out 110% and signed it 10 million times, so the 6th one, a year on, had to do ?
