Quaich Ceremony Wording

Hi,

We want to include drinking of the quaich during our ceremony. We are having a civil ceremony.

Has anyone done this or planning to do it?

I cant seem to find any wording for the registrar performing the ceremony - can anyone help?

Words for Sharing of the Quaich (adapted from Scottish blessings and toasts)

Strike hands with me,
the glasses brim,
the dew is on the heather,
for love is good and life is long,
and two are best together.

Bless the union of these two,
eager for marriage, eager for love.
May they begin life together,
live that life together,
and come to the end together.

Thanks, This is the best I have found:

The Quaich, a two handled loving cup, is an ancient Scottish tradition that seals the bond of two people, and marks the blending of two families. It symbolizes the love and trust implied by the bond, as the new couple shares the first drink of their marriage together. ___________ and _________, it is now time to complete your bond.

but I wanted something a bit better! if anyone has any ideas, let me know!

I'm sure you'll find words that work for you if not just do a little bit of" tweaking" that way it will be personalised and it'll be special to you and your OH.
