Question about wing collars and cravat

Lizzywills, 29 of June of 2014 at 07:56 Posted on Planning 0 4

Can you wear a cravat and wing collars and waistcoat with a normal suit (as oppose to a tailcoat suit)?

my oh feels too short for tails but wants the rest.

has anyone done or doing this?

I'd say so yes. What he could/should do is go to a suit hire shop and try them on to see how he feels. Just a thought x

If your OH wants a formal suit and is on the shorter side it should still be okay. We are hiring from Debenhams and our men are all different heights but the suits come in short, regular and long length so when they all stand together the bottoms of the jackets will still be the same length. We are also having winged collars and ruches.

My oh is wearing a normal suit, cravat, waistcoat and pointed collar shirt as opposed to wing collar. He looks fab :-)

Our boys are wearing Prince Edward suits rather than tails - they come in shorter lengths too - might be worth considering?
