Question Re Names on Escort Cards/Place Cards

20 April, 2012 at 10:05 Posted on Planning 0 8

Do people generally use full names or what the person is known as - eg Robert or Rob? (with the surname of course)

Do you use titles or just names and surnames?

Do you refer to bride/groom/MOB etc by their name or 'Mother of The Bride'

Thanks.

Personally I think this is down to personal choice and how formal or informal your wedding is, but be consistent if you use one persons shortened name , "Rob" for example, do the same for everyone, the same applies to the Bridal party too.

We are only having therm on the top table and just using first names.

Everybody else is free to sit where they like on their allocated table although I have put a list of names on the table name sign in case they forget where they are going on the way from the table plan to the table.

I will probably use whatever names they send back on their RSVP cards. Prob won't bother with titles for the top table.

I think I will be making them with titles for the top table...might be something people want as a keepsake. Everyone else will have their shortened names, we're only having a really small wedding as we're going abroad so don't really need them but thought they would be a nice touch. The onlything is depending on how many people you have coming you would need somewhere which had everyones full names on just incase theres more than one person with the same name........could be a seating confusion dilemma lol.

On teh table plan on the top table it says mob/mog/groom etc but the wine glass charms have their names.

All the names are just their first names, not nicknames.

I am using short names and nicknames, probably with surnames so its clear between Rob's - have done on my invitiations to. I am going for the inforamal feel though so if your doing formal I would use full names.
