Raclette

AnnaBanana, 21 May, 2008 at 12:37 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 8

We have some friends over for dinner on Sat and I was thinking of using a raclette I bought some time ago and have used only once!

I will google some ideas for it but wondered if anyone had any recommendations for stuff to make on it?

?

I'd really like one of these - i have a love of fiddly table cookery

i think it is usually just bits of meat, potatoes, vegetables and the melty cheese

not sure that traditionally it isnt just the potato - but although that sounds gorgeous to me it may be a bit boring

My boss and one of my colleagues have one of these. According to them....

    New potatoes + melty cheese

    Omlette in the little trays

and the meat etc. already mentioned. Lamb neck fillet is apparently good, as is halloumi.

We generally have plenty of chopped cooked meat (easier than having it raw and trying to judge when its cooked when the drinks are flowing!), onions, peppers, courgette, tomato and mini sausages for children, served with side salad and fresh bread. Baby corn and broccolli also work well. Then its just all put on table and its a general free for all to pick and choose.

Have seen mini omlettes being cooked on the top but not tried it as we're not egg fans.

We have also used it for puddings with chopped fresh fruit being topped with good quality chocolate or marshmallows. Is lovely with some really good vanilla ice cream.

Love the raclette. We use ours at least every 3-4 weeks. Take it you know that Waitrose sell the proper raclette cheese, both ready sliced prepacked and from the cheese counter.

    Thanks everyone!

FA - yep although my local waitrose never seems to have any, I had to use Gouda last time (it was a last minute thing), but I think the local cheese shop might have some this time. Omellete is a good idea, I have a vegetarian coming so will have to check how strict he is!

ETA - LOVING the chocolate idea <wonders if she can skip the main course altogether> ?

That sounds like a great idea! It’s always fun to explore new projects and get creative inspiration online. Depending on what you’re planning to make, you can find tons of amazing DIY tutorials, home décor ideas, and furniture design concepts that match your style. If you’re into home improvement or interior design, I’d also suggest visiting a furniture showroom Lahore to see some modern pieces in person — it’s a great way to get real-life ideas about textures, finishes, and layouts that you can incorporate into your own projects. Sometimes, just walking through a showroom can spark fresh creativity and help you visualize how certain designs might look in your space. Whether you’re going for something simple or a more detailed build, combining online research with in-person inspiration always leads to better results!

I never paid much attention to slot tournaments before, but my attitude changed after spending more time at Wild Robin Casino. Playing from Canada, I usually prefer calm, individual sessions, but tournaments added a different layer without forcing competition. What I like is that at Wild Robin, tournaments don’t feel aggressive or rushed. I can join knowing that I’m still playing my usual games, just with an added goal in the background. It pushed me to be more consistent with bet sizes and session timing, instead of spinning randomly. I also noticed that tournaments helped me discover slots I wouldn’t normally choose on my own. Even when I don’t place high on the leaderboard, the experience itself feels structured and engaging. Wild Robin Casino keeps the rules clear, so I always know how progress is tracked and what matters most. Before joining, I usually read the details on wildrobin-canada.com to make sure the format fits my schedule. For me, slot tournaments became less about winning prizes and more about giving sessions a clear purpose. That’s why I think they work well for players in Canada who want motivation without pressure. Has anyone else here changed their slot habits after trying tournaments, or do you still prefer standard play?
