Cancer related charities is a good suggestion, there have been many people touched by this on this forum since I have been here.

Hi i think this is a great idea, i would also like to suggest the National Autistic society as a benefitting charity, mainly as i do have two children with Autism, and the really are working tirelessly to support people with an ASD and their families especially through their Early Bird and 'HELP' programmes, they are proving to be a very useful tool for us at the moment.

I remember when I 1st joined that the raffle was pinned to the top of the posts. Lots of people posted about the great prizes they had won so yes, I'm definetely up for that!!

I would def buy some raffle tickets. why17 is a really worthy cause but as has already been said, there are many hitchers atm who have been affected by cancer so a cancer charity might be a good idea

Just keep an eye out on the forum. I'll wait another few days and see what response I get and then set up Just Giving pages for the appropriate charities.

We can always have 2 charities I guess.

I've also asked the Hitched mod's about promoting this elsewhere either through their newsletter or maybe email suppliers that don't come onto the forum as it would be good to get as many prizes as possible. I have no idea if they would be able to do this but no harm in asking.

Im positive there were three charities last year lynz, I remember there being three different justgiving pages so we can have more than one if there are a couple of suggestions.

Dee looking back on threads it looks like we did end up having several charities. I'm easy with where the money goes.

Hi Lynsey - I've mailed you with a prize donation. Thanks for offering to do this - I don't mind which charity although Alzheimers Society would be my chosen one as my Dad died from this terrible disease.

My favourite charities are definatly Cancer Research and Great Ormond street Childrens Hospital. I give to these any time I get a chance!

Am just throwing my charity suggestions in of Great Ormond Street Hospital and Birthmark Support Group, as GOSH has to raise £50million a year to keep it going and BSG being a lesser known charity with therefore much less support. Both clse to my heart but any charity is worthy of money really.

Im in, Charity wise, I would like to see a Cancer one up there as my family has been hit really hard by cancer and Alzheimers Society is another good one as my nan died from this.

Would anyone else be interested in buying tickets? If the uptake isn't going to be great then it might not be worthwhile organising so please post with your thoughts.

Ideally I'd get the Just Giving pages set up over the weekend and a cancer charity sounds like a definite choice so we'd just need to choose the second.

I'll post this on BT as well as Deadwood and try to drum up as many prizes as possible.

I'd definitely buy some tickets! Having had successful treatment for breast cancer a couple of years back, I'd like to cast my vote for a cancer charity but will buy tickets regardless.

I'm not a HIB so can't offer anything bridal. Am happy to offer up a skill if you think it might appeal Lynsey? I run my own recruitment firm, specialising mainly in the legal sector. Am happy to do a free CV revamp for someone. Most places charge between £30 - £250 for this depending on your experience. Please feel free to disregard it if it doesn't sit well with the other prizes.

I'd be happy to see money go to most of the causes mentioned, but I don't really support animal charities - sorry, I'm not an animal lover, and I'd far rather money went to people that are suffering (e.g. shelter or health-related causes) As an epileptic I'd love to see money go to them, but I wonder whether just go for one and go for cancer research as that way everyone will be happy.
