Raincoats

KJB, 5 September, 2008 at 08:52 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 11

As posted on another thread...

There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing so get yourself a sexy raincoat and live a little.

Billy Connolly

I need a sexy raincoat. Any ideas where I can find something that isn't a) a kagoule b) a black bin bag a la Angie Watts c. 1987.

Thanks

KJB

Classic Aquascrotum trench? I say this as I saw one in the factory shop the other day that was £150 off - bargain.

Sadly I don't think my black Berghaus goretex thing qualifies as sexy. It's very waterproof though.

Aquascutum? Don't you know there's a credit crunch on? LOL

I like the Boden ones GW posted, but wonder if the cost per wear would be cheaper for a classic style over time. I'll have a look in the shops at the weekend (while wearing my current green and purple kagoule)

I need something similar, except I need it with a hood and I suspect that "hooded raincoat" and "sexy" are mutually exclusive, especially when combined with "rotund" ?

Marks and Sparks have some nice macs in at the moment. I really want one with a pleated back but haven't seen anything like I'm picturing in my mind. I don't know whether i'll get a proper winter coat this year, I'm just looking for a mac that I can wear thick jumpers/cardigans under cause as my mum says 'we just don't get the winters' lol!

I don't know if you have a Primark near you but they have a massive range of raincoats in a whole bunch of colours and they're only about £15. My friend bought a bright pink one but they have green, blue, black, green and white with flowers on...all sorts!!

    LOL

The top Boden one which GW posted has a hood. I never had you down as a hoodie wearer. But I guess you can't carry an umbrella while pushing a pushchair.

The Boden one leaks, there is a massive thread on another forum about the quest for a decent hooded raincoat, I was hoping you'd have the answers lol

The primark one is flying out the doors though and sold out in MAnchester.
