random question about liquid restrictions in hand luggage

sapphire_22, 28 June, 2012 at 12:07 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 9

Does body butter count as a liquid?

My first thought would be no as its fairly solid and measured in grams, but last time they wouldn't let me through with lipbalm.

Of course it does. As does toothpaste, it's still a liquid just not the runny sort.

    Yep!

I am currently having hand luggage issues... we are off to Ibiza on a hen weekend and opted for hand luggage only as we can travel light, however we are flying with tow different airlines and have just discovered that although we have a 10kg allowance on the way out, it is only 5kg on the way back!!

Need to weigh my hand luggage to see if we will be ok, if not its an extra £70 to check in a bag!!!

Also trying to find sun lotion in 100ml is proving tricky!

Mrs C you are brave - My make up bag weighs more than 5k!

I agree with flow, decant! Or buy a normal sized bottle between you at the airport once you are through security, you don't need to bring it back. Would yo consider taking things like an old beachtowel that you can chuck before coming home?

Mrs C - remember it's only a one litre bag that you are allowed altogether...so probably only half a dozen 100ml bottles max.

Another trick ive always used with Hand luggage is to buy at the airport once you have checked in and passed security. Then just throw away once finished! Know thats a little wasteful but on a group weekend with girls I would club together with them Smiley smile
