Designers will probably never us anything other than size 0 models, however, Maggie Sottero has a section on teh web of real brides wearing her dresses, all different sizes - good idea me thinks.

Thank you so much! Viking Princess may I say the model in your dress looks like she is having the most boring day ever - whereas you radiate happiness in yours and your figure looks amazing! The dress suits you perfectly. It's so nice seeing everyone's dresses, there are some right crackers!

I think actually everyone looks so much better than the models, and I think it is the fact that there is a bit of life in our own piccies. The model ones can look so flat and lifeless. The ones of the dress being worn 'for real' on the big day just look so much better than the model shots, I think the fact that everyone is standing so proudly and confidently really brings the picture to life.

After ordering my dress I went online to show my dad and was so upset with the photo of the model that I had very serious wobbles. Over the few months between ordering and it arriving I even convinced myself that I hated the dress! She looks too thin, possibly a bit ill and has a hideous hairstyle. I'm pretty sure I was none of these things!!

Wish i had seen this thread before I wentshpopping I was dreading it thinking all the dresses wold be make for modles but looks like bridal designers do make their dresses to suit real women, they without execption look better on a real bride

Anyone else think that the professionally modelled wedding dresses look a bit odd, fake and not like real dresses at all? They look like they are made of plastic not fabric!

Thats what I was thinking too, the real dresses look not as stiff as the model ones.

The dresses on the models must have been pressed to within an inch of their life, there are no creases, or crinkles or anything.
