Reception venue help in Devon!

Hi all, ceremony booked in August for Haldon belvedere but we were let down on our original reception venue and don't have long to find another! As its august all the hotels and tradition places are booked which is ok as I want something fun and quirky but I can't find anything! Would love to hear from someone who got married at the belvedere or had an unusual reception venue around exeter, teignmouth or surround. Budget is quite tight.

    How far are you willing to travel?

    The Waie Inn, Zeal Monochorum is about 20 miles away from Higher Ashton, but is a decent venue. Both my sisters had their wedding reception there.

    If I remember correctly, there was no charge for the venue itself. Just had to pay for catering etc.

    Hi,

    My sister got married at Haldon - it was gorgeous. Then we went to The Devon Hotel in Matford, Exeter. Unfortunately I have no idea what she spent.

    The waie inn looks amazing, it was further than I wanted to travel but having looked at pictures I'm going to ask if it's available :-) unfortunately the Devon hotel is definetly taken, we already tried there and the lord Haldon but they both get booked up quick as so close to the belvedere and both pretty cheap.

    It is a little pricey, but they got a brilliant deal at short notice, and it is beautiful!

    Its a way out of the distance you wanted, but we looked at hornsbury mill in chard. They do great last minute packages.

    Stokeinteignhead have got a really nice looking village hall, have never been to a wedding there but have seen photos of it, and being a village hall it's probably quite cheap!

    We having our Reception at the Waie Inn in Oct! The Guys their are brilliant and they will go out of their way to make everything perfect :-)
