I am what OHs Uncle calls "a bit particular" about my day to day essentials and so we have gone for things people may normally keep for best as our everdaywear - I don't want my best stuff locked up, I want to get use of it, day in day out, so have done a lot of research and we have this (2 of, which I adore, purely for the way it looks. I also like that I have matching steak knives and serving soons etc)

I find most of Viners stuff awesome quality but a bit old and stuffy for me and my young H, that said, I could live with this (currently half price, so a great deal!)

I also think your getting some really good stuff for an amazing price here:

We use Viners Eden range as our everyday ones. I put them in the dishwasher and just wipe them with a tea towel after the cycle. Have had them for a while now and they are still good as new. We have a special silver set for dinner parties that my parents bought for us from Arthur Price as a house warming gift. I think it was called Empire.

Debenhams is good to look for nice cutlery sets that won't make your MIL gasp at the price tag!

We use my pa's set that he had before he married my ma! It's solid good quality stuff, still. I'm sure we'll update it one day!

OH took me to a posh hotel for my 40th and when we were there we absolutely loved their cutlery by Studio William. We put the set on our wedding list and were lucky enough to be given it http://www.studiowilliamshop.co.uk/GB/en/Cutlery-Sets-with-Mirror-Finish.html

They are really modern designs and are lovely and heavy, really good quality. We have the Tilia design.

Who knew that cutlery provided such a wealth of shopping opportunities? I'd never viewed cutlery as anything other than functional before. We have a "crappy" plastic handled set that is used to stir/dish out food/etc. Then we have an "eating" set which is plain Viners (a small set though, six places worth of fork/knife/big spoon/soup spoon). We also have a "best" set, also Viners, which we have never used (eight places worth of the full shebang, from serving spoons to fish knives).

My mother bought us both of our Viners cutlery set as two consecutive Christmas gifts. Not sure how she thought we might have worn one out in a year. I assume there was a deal on QVC or something!

I prefer rose gold cutlery sets than regular silver ones. They look absolutely gorgeous on the dining table with correct placement decors. I bought myself curvy ones from Urban Kitchen https://urbankitchen.shop/flatware/rose-gold-flatware/luxury-rose-gold-flatware-set/

I know it's not the most ideal solution, but natural cutlery is the way forward. Stainless steel cutlery is not widely known that they are made (see Wikipedia link here - sorry to have shocked you: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stainless_steel ).

My Little Panda sells bamboo cutlery at https://mylittlepanda.co.uk/ It took me a while to get used to it, but now I am comfortable with it. (I have a family history of health issues, therefore I avoid using chemical products)
