Redundancy gift

July, 25 July, 2008 at 14:37 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 4

A colleague who I have worked with for 5 years has been made redundant, she is finishing up next week. Not sure if its the done thing to get a present. But I want to get a card or something. But not sure what to in this situation, any ideas?

I think it would be a lovely gesture. How about a nice bottle of wine, or maybe some gift vouchers - especially if they haven't got another job to go to.

thanks. I was thinking about a bottle or 2 of wine.

Just not sure whether to get a card and what kind - missing you, sorry you're leaving etc. None of them really seem appropriate.

Good luck/best wishes or a blank card?

(Just been made redundant and this would be fine - as would a bottle of wine!)

Sorry to hear you have been made redundant. I was lucky (this time), I got moved to a different office a few weeks before the redundancies happened. I will see if I can get away from work and visit her on her last day.
