Hi everyone! I’m getting married in July 2023. I was about to book a registry person to come to our wedding earlier until she told me it would be £466! I’ve been looking online ever since and can’t decide wether it would be cheaper to go to the actual registry office the day before and legally marry there then have a celebrant come to our wedding on the day? I’ve tried to look for a celebrant on a website however the ones I’ve seen at the moment are over £600 😬 I’ve seen so many people say they’ve paid less overall though so I’m really stuck on what to do! I’m not sure if it depends on the area itself though? Myself and my fiancé are based in East Sussex but we’re having our wedding in West Sussex.

    Ours is around £600 for 2023 but we were told the cost is going up from that. To what I don't know yet but I have paid the £150 deposit. Ours is in the North. X

    Ours is costing £450 for the day in the North East - this is only a little more than my friend paid about 3 years ago, I don't know how much other celebrants charge as I didn't get a quote from anywhere else. I know it does depend on the council area though as my sister is getting married 6 months before me and hers is a little more

    Booked ours yesterday for 2023 wedding in East Sussex and came to £623Smiley ups Definitely wasn't expecting it to be that much but I suppose it is a necessity!

    Unless of course you would prefer to have a celebrant on the day and sort the legal bit a different day - this is personal preference though I suppose, although we wouldn't do this.
