Registrar at a pub

Romanticorangehair841, 31 January, 2021 at 21:02 Posted on Planning 0 3
Hey so we've been "looking" at venues and we think we've found one we like and for a very good price. We are now considering having the ceremony there but when i looked at how much the registrar would be it would be either the same if not more than having a church wedding. Is this right? Or have i read it completely wrong. Im in Kent as i know it varies where you are. Cost would be £506 for church without extras and registrar at the venue £565-£635

Cannot comment on the exact cost but remember that you are paying for 2 attendees. And also although you did say the Church without extras they can add up quickly there can be extra costs for the church such as, organ player, choir, bell ringers, and in some cases heating.

Also consider that if everything is at the same venue then you may decide that you do not need to spend extra money on a car - although I have shot plenty of weddings that still have a car and they will mostly stay for you for shots with the both of you after the ceremony.

Theres no rooms at the venue so would have to get a car from a hotel that would only be 5 mins away. Thats why i wanted to see if im right with the cost as if i am I'll probably get married at the church as it would make no difference at all in cost.

Sorry I was assuming that you would be leaving from home/parents house. And so if the ceremony was at the pub then there would be less reason to hire a wedding car because when you arrive everyone will be inside and wont see it. But at a Church everyone will see it afterwards as it will be waiting for you to take you to the reception.

It may be worth finding out how much all the extra Church costs will add up to so you can properly compare.

I assume that the pub does have a licence to hold wedding ceremonies.
