Registrar question....

To my knowledge we're not meeting our ceremony registrar before the day.

some registrars prefer to sort out the choices in person, this happened with my first marriage, however this time we just have the pack to complete and send back.

I don't think it's done as standard- we certainly didn't.

Try phoning to see if you can arrange to meet- I guess it will depend on whether they have actually allocated someone yet specifically for your wedding and whether they actually have time to meet as I guess a lot of their time will be spent on actual weddings/ notice/ registration of other births and deaths etc

I quite liked filling out the pack, reading through the options made me quite emotional! We met our registrar when we went to give notice but that may have just been coincidental. Ours was lovely and in the meeting beforehand was relaxed and reassured me everyone was ok and complimented our reading choices before we went through the formalities.

You don't normally get to meet your registrar as it will depend on the councils work roster as to who is booked to work and who isn't.

We're getting married in Bournemouth. Got the pack and forms back in June, we have a meeting with the council to go over ceremony choices next weekend, ready for April wedding.

As far as I'm aware, this is the only face-to-face meeting we'll have with them and it won't necessarily be with 'our' registrar. We will; however, get a call from our registrar the week beforehand to check everything over.

I admit, I got a little emotional reading through the pack, even though we've gone for the shortest, most minimal vows - literally, we're going to stand there for 5 mins saying 'I am' and 'I do' ha ha.
