My partner and I have recently got engaged, and as we live in London (have done for 7 years) we have began to plan our London wedding. We were shocked to find out that a celebrant cannot legally marry you here? Perhaps a silly thing to not know.
I haven’t ever been to an English wedding, only Scottish celebrants. Now I am worried that the ceremony will not feel personal or special. We don’t want to get married on a different day, we want the service to be legal but still personal. Can we have both registrar and celebrant together? Any tips on what to do please send!
