Registrar worry!

Which council is your registrar booked with? And which council will you need to give notice to?

If Derby have taken your deposit and confirmed your registrar is booked then I wouldn't worry for now. A couple of months before the ceremony they will ask you to pay the final balance and send you a form to complete with all your ceremony preferences, vows, songs etc.

If you have that booking confirmed then you can arrange your giving notice appointment with your local office. You've got up to 1 month before to give notice so you've got time.

We get married end of October and got an email literally yesterday about paying the remaining fees. It’s not due until 12 weeks before your wedding date so don’t worry. They’ll definitely be in touch asking for your money!


We also gave notice last week. I’ve read some areas have significant waiting lists so always best to get your appointment booked in asap I would say.

Nearer the time derby council will send you an email for you to choose your ceremony & pay the final fee.
