Registry office maximum people

LuxuriousBlueFlowers879, 23 May, 2017 at 18:41 Posted on Planning 0 1

Hi this is daft i know but I somehow miscalculated the number of guest's for our ceremony. The room is a maximum of 40 people and i have now counted 43. Would this matter? Thanks for your help.

You'd need to contact your Registry office.

If it's just that they only have 40 chairs, then you should be fine. However, if it's a fire safety thing then it may be an issue.

Give them a call, they may even have a larger room you could use Smiley smile

I was told that you need to be careful with registry offices as they are likely to count people in & out - we've been told we could risk that happening at our venue, but as long as the extra few are small enough to sit on people's knees we should get away with it apparently! I think if they notice people standing it'll be an issue (that's what I'm hoping anyway as we're 74 for a venue for 70, but 4 are smaller people).
