Restaurant for a hen do in London - ideas?

alison76, 22 August, 2008 at 22:33 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 14

Hen do in February.

Going to a saturday matinee of Dirty Dancing (so excited about that).

Then drinks and dinner. No-one else really knows London (I live and work here) so it's kind of falling on me to come up with an idea.

Covent Garden is going to be closest and I was thinking of the really cheesy Mexican place that does pitchers of cocktails.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks to all.

It certainly is, Mr Platty went there about a month ago and got completely wankered.

What ever you do, don't go to Chez Gerard in CG. Bloody awful.

Floridita is good too - on Dean Street.

Belgos used to be amazing but it's been shocking the last couple of times I've been and when friends have been also. Floriditas I would avoid - the food is lovely but the service when I went a year ago was appalling so I refuse to go back.

You could try the Eagle bar in Soho - cocktails and burgers which aren't too expensive.

It might be Wardour Street, I'm usually a bit drunk when there Jesster. ?

The service in Floridita was fine the few times I've been - if you've only been once, it was probably an off day. Or it's become rubbish.

Thanks to all of you for the replies - sorry for the delay in replying, my t'interweb crashed on Friday night and I've been away since early Saturday morning.

Floridita - of course! I'm going there on Thursday for a girl's night out so will check it out.

Sophie - would love to hear recs. Thanks.

I think I'm going to discourage the use of a limo from the theatre to the restaurant - we'll just sit in traffic and would be quicker walking!

I went on a hen night to that Moroccan place with the belly dancers; it was great. Can't remember its name though. Souk???

ETA it is Souk http://www.soukrestaurant.net/index.asp - bang in the middle of Covent Garden
