Ribbon to match Alfred Angelo Eggplant (purple!) dresses.

nicky1980, 1 November, 2010 at 16:16 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hi!

Would anyone know where I could get ribbon to match Alfred Angelo dresses? I'd like to use some satin or velvet ribbon on our favours.

Thank you!

Nic

Have you got a swatch of fabric? I am off to the suppliers this week & can have a look for you, there are 1000's there! I have some here but it is hard to match without seeing the actual fabric.

Can't answer the actual question but I borrowed the bridal shops swatch book, nipped to hobby craft and matched it up as best I could to my dresses. I doubt any of my guests will hold their favours/invites up to the dresses so it doesn't matter if they're not 100% perfect match.

I had a sample but I can't find it! ? I was just wondering if there was anywhere on the internet that does a good colour match - I'd better e-mail the shop again and ask for another sample!

Thank you for your offered help Sherrie! I really appreciate it! I think I need to find the time to get looking myself! We're having small jars of sweets that represent health, wealth, happiness etc and H2B wants the lids covered in material rather than just the silver lids they came with. I think I'll really struggle to match the colour with the bridesmaids dresses so I thought I'd go for lilac (maybe organza?) as a contrast then match the ribbon closer which will have the place name attached.

You could use Ivory or white Organza & then tie with a purple ribbon. It doesn't have to be an exact match to the dress but as close as possible.

Ohhhh! Frizzball that colour looks very familiar! ?

I thought I'd go for lilac as the flowers are going to be in the tall martini glasses in purple and ivory and all the linen is white. We're not having any other table decoration. I thoguth the lilac may warm the table up a bit for first impressions?

I'd love opinions though as I'm not always fab at putting colours together!

I think white Organza & maybe a Lilac or purple ribbon. If I get time tomorrow I'll do some mockups for you as I have some organza here & ribbons so that you can see the colours together.
