Rice Krispie Cakes or Rocky Road Favours!?

Mmmmmmm, been thinking about favours this weekend and how i resent paying over the odds for bought chocolates etc, and just had the genius idea of making either mini rice krispie cake slices or rocky roads. both can be made in advance and kept for a few days i'd imagine?! i already have small rectangular favour boxes that i want to use so could slice up the goodies and put nicely in a box with ribbon! i'm excited!!

or is it a bad idea!??

    Good idea - in theory - I'd go for Rocky road BUT will you have time in the run up to the wedding to do this without gettign stressed, especially with Christmas in the way?

    BTW - have you shopped around on t'internet for the sweets/chocolates? We've got our 3kg bag of dolly mixtures for £15 from Yum Yums online...

    I think so - surely it'd be a quick and easy jobby! but you know how i worry about little things so you could be right! haha!

    just saw your post about cheap sweets. have been looking around for cheap sweets for the sweetie buffet but wanted something a bit more fancy for the favours to create the distinction between the two. however, the other favour threads today have made me decide not to spend lots on favours, so think these tray goodies could be the way forward!

    For taste and logistics...I'd go for Rocky Road. Chewy, crunchy and less likey to break up during transportation ?

    I love rice crispie cakes! If someone gave me those as a favour I'd think it was the best wedding ever. Maybe do half and half? If you use plenty of chocolate the rice crispie cakes should be pretty sturdy.

    Ooh thanks girls - yet to see what OH thinks of it! i was thinking i could ice our initials on top of each one, but think i'd need to practise that first! what better excuse to make some now to test out!! Smiley smile

    Aw im hungry now this is not helping my diet rocky road made with melted mars bar i would be in heaven, u lot are rotten lol ?
