Rocking wedding dresses

Anarcala, 17 of September of 2013 at 20:59 Posted on Planning 0 21

Hi guys - I'm a bit of a rocker, and I'm looking at 1950's inspired wedding dresses. Something I can flash a bit of colour with the underskirt. Anyway, I started looking at wedding dress shops in and around the North West and it all looks a little...not me. So, I'm thinking about rifling around online to try and find something. Does anyone have any idea where to start?

I should add that I'm not looking to spend a fortunate (i.e. £200-300 budget) simply 'cos I'm too pragmatic (and boring Smiley winking ).

I've bought a lot of dresses from an ebay shop (they might have a website too) called sirens and starlets and they have loads of 50's / 40's / rockabilly etc ones to choose from.

Also lindybop.co.uk have loads of these dresses and a couple of bridal & BM's dresses Smiley smile

Couple of others might be worth checking out

Try Vivienne of Holloway for a 50s rockabilly dress - pretty sure they do a "wedding dress" version.

I've mentioned this site before but I want to add I'm in no way affiliated with them and haven't bought from them so can't make comment on quality etc (I've just looked at a LOT of different dresses) but inspirationbridal have a lot of different tealength/50's style dresses and all around the £200 mark. If my sister hadn't gone for a tealength dress I think it would have been what I would have opted for,

I love some of the dresses on Inspirational Bridal! I wish I could have went to look at them at a studio/shop/whatever. I was unable to try on my dress when I ordered it, so have done so in complete (blind) faith that it'll look good on me.....ha!....I'm very tempted to get the polka dot (cheaper) one via IB "just in case" haahaahaa, and if need to I'll get it dyed Smiley smile

Look Candy Anthony and House of Mooshki dresses too, but they're so expensive =(
