romantic cottages for our mini-moon, recommend any?

Exactly this, we would like to book a mini-moon, preferably in the north of England or Scotland. Maybe 3-4 nights in a romantic cottage or self catering apartment with hot tub or spa facilities. Does anyone know of anywhere good?

We've just booked a cabin on a forestry commission site. It's got a private hot tub too.

We're going to the forest of dean but they've got sites in Yorkshire and Scotland.

    This is their website:

A few years ago my OH booked a cottage in SNowdonia, in the most beautiful setting, nothing around but walks and sheep! There was a hot tub, sauna and a lovely open fire. I will try and find out where he booked it Smiley smile

This weekend we are staying for two nights at 'Higher Scholes Cottage' in Howarth in Yorkshire. It is where the Bronte sister lived (Howarth, not the cottage!). It's a lovely little town with quaint shops and nice restaurants. The cottage itself has a log burning stove and an outdoor private hot tub. I'm really looking forward to it. I'll let you know if I'd recommend it when I get back.

Thanks so much for the recommendations, though we may avoid Haworth as I was in a traffic accident there a couple of years ago :-/

We've stayed in the Tranquil Otter in the lake district before - its really beautiful - hot tub on the decking overlooking the lake and a woodburning stove, and little woodland area for walks, and your own little wooden row boat if you fancy a row on the lake. We didnt but I think you can organsie someone to come and do massages/other spa type treatments too...

Check out Loch Earn in Scotland - it's north of Glasgow on the West Coast - it's stunning and the village Loch EarnHead I think has some great places to eat too.
