Romantica ordering times...

Flickerty, 11 November, 2011 at 19:08 Posted on Planning 0 11

Tried on some gorgeous dresses in Bath today and managed to narrow it down to two to decide between - both by Romantica. I completely forgot to ask how long it would take for the dress to arrive after ordering... has anyone else ordered a Romantica dress? I love them! The one is called Maldives but i can't seem to find a name for the other one.

I've been told that 6 months is usual for American designers, like Maggie, but with Romantica being a Devon based company I was wondering whether that would speed things up a bit...

Can't comment on Romantica, but my dress is a Mark Lesley - they said it would take about four months, but came in in about 2 and a half months.

I had the Romantica Montecarlo, lovely dress. When i ordered it last August i was told it would come into the shop in Feb so 6 months but it was a couple of weeks late. Just seen your ticker you might want to contact the store or you might be leaving it too late.

Normal ordering times tend to be between 4-6 months.

I have just ordered 3 Romantica BM dresses and they are taking 4 months.

I'd definitely call the shop and ask, although would guess that they would ask for at least 6 months.

I know that the company are called Romantica of Devon, and that their HQ is in Devon, but I think you'll find that there dresses will still be made in China (or somewhere else in far east).

Thanks everyone. I've now found places selling samples of each dress so think i will be going down that route, given my time frame... and they're cheaper! I can't believe how quickly time has passed. Kept thinking i had ages to go and was shocked to see my ticker the other week.

Very good choice Mrs M! I think Montecarlo is the one i'm leaning towards... any pics with you wearing it?!

Michelle - I now live in Cardiff but lived in Bath back in **** while at university there so it's very close to my heart! I only went to one shop - The Clothes Horse. Such a fab shop and really lovely staff. Didn't dare go to any of the other shops in B ath in case i fell in love with something ten times my budget!!

    Hi Flickerty,

It is a lovely dress, my computer takes for ever to upload my photos but here is the link to my report. There are a couple of pics of me wearing the dress.

Gorgeous photos Mrs M. You're definitely helping to sway me towards Monte Carlo! I really like the bolero with it as well, do you mind if i ask where it's from? I love lace but lacey dresses don't really suit me and are usually a bit heavy for an abroad wedding, so a bolero could be a good option to get some lace in there somewhere...

Hi thanks, glad i can help Smiley smile it is a pretty little jacket and alot of my guests commented on it.

This is where i bought it from http://www.allfordress.com/Store.asp?classid=17&classname=Bolero Jacket & Coat&classid1=16&PageSort=Store

I came across them on ebay. The jacket was lovely but not exactly what i was expecting when it turned up. The main fabric is netting which i didn't realise but it was still lovely.
