RSVP cards - with a choice menu?

Buzzee, 15 March, 2011 at 20:21 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hi All

Was originally not going to do RSVPs and just direct everyone to the website to RSVP online but having second thoughts about that. However, we're having a choice menu (3 options for starters and mains, then everyone having the same pud). How did you get around this - as obviously most couples 'share' an RSVP card so we'll somehow need to know who wants what, so we can write it on their placecards.

Your wording help would be much appreciated!

    Hi,

We've given ours menu choices and I've put in a RSVP card for everyone, so for a couple there are two cards with their name pre-printed on it.

My friend, who also menu choices, has written the information on one card, put names on the RSVP card and asked people to circle which choice they want.

Here's a picture of the text

I don't really have an answer but we've been playing with ideas, as we have the same dilemma! We've got two choices for main and dessert, and we also need to know if people want a seat on the coach between the hotel / church / reception, and I was a bit worried our RSVP cards would come out looking like some sort of NHS form!

At the moment our design is a card with the RSVP bit on the front, which has a pair of tick boxes and 'Accept with pleasure' and 'Decline with regret', then another pair of tick boxes for 'Coach transport required' / 'Coach transport not required', then a sentence at the bottom saying 'Please turn over to make your menu choices.'

Then on the back we've got headings of 'Name (please also write any special dietary requirements in this space)', 'Main' and 'Dessert.' Under Name there are six lines - we're inviting quite a few families with kids, so up to six people RSVP-ing on one invite! And under the others there are tick boxes with the food choices.

We're also putting a little menu card in (pocketfold invites) so they can see the full yummy-menu description of the meal and not just 'chicken or beef' - didn't want it to sound like choosing a meal on a plane! And we're putting details about the coach in the Information bit so hopefully they'll know what we mean by the time they get to the RSVP.

Still, I think it's going to be an interesting test of all our friends and family, seeing who fills it in correctly!

We didn't give menu options - basically eat what you're given or go hungry - but had "accept / regret" boxes, space for each person's name on the rsvp (up to 5 people in a family group), a tickbox for ceremony, a tickbox for wedding breakfast and a tickbox for evening, plus space to list any dietary requirements.

Also we had two menu options for children, or an adult tickbox for each name.

That gave us 23 tickbox options on rsvp's.

    I wouldn't be too concerned...

    Hi

When I do RSVP cards with menu choices, I always include one per person and write on them to complete one each.
