Safe way to dispose of unlit Fireworks?

Hurtle Turtle, 20 April, 2008 at 14:01 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

Does anybody know how I would dispose of unlit fireworks. I have a box of them which I need to dispose of. I dont want to light them, as its April not November. I'll have a google too but just wondered if anybody had done this before?
Is soaking them in water sufficient, Im thinking not?
?

Cant you store them in a metal tin until November or a birthday or something?

Apart from the danger thing its such a waste.

If you don't want to keep them til November, you can dispose of them at a police station. They will put them in their "bomb bin" and dispose of them for you.

I dont really want to store them as Im moving house into a shared one so desperately need to get rid of items I dont need essentially.
I didnt know that Rusty, interesting. I will see if any of my friends would like them first.

I think you can hand them into your local fire station - just give them a ring and ask, they'll be able to tell you what to do with them either way
