Salon shampoo/conditioner

Do they really make a huge difference to your hair?

I've just had a huge dye job at the salon and they're encouraging me to buy their products as they say they're the same brand as the hair dye they used so it will work better.

I'm not sure if it really does make a difference tho!

Hm, I don't know about the same brand thing, but I do use one of brands of shampoo and conditioner stocked in the salon and I do notice a difference if I use a cheaper brand. I spend a lot of money each month on getting a ridiculous amount of grey hair hidden away (aka - a LOT of dye!) so I look at it as taking care of my investment!!

I use a Kerastase shampoo and it's great. I only need to use a tiny amount and it doesn't leave a greasy film on my hair like a lot of other shampoo I have tried.

I buy my shampoo from my hairdresser because it's for greasy hair and is a godsend. I used to try different shop bought brands and my hair was a nightmare. My hairdresser suggested the one I have now (can't remember the name) and it's fab it even means I only need to wash my hair every other day.

Oh should add I have blond highlights that also help and shampoo will be tested soon as I plan to go back to brown!

I alternate, I keep around 3 or 4 on the go and use a different one each day. Usually it's a mix of cheap and expensive. I find that it all about what works on your hair, I get good results from some really cheap brands but my favourite is Lucinda Ellery but by not using it every day it saves me some money, plus my hair gets used to products and they stop working.

The orange Kerastase range is amazing. I use Bain Satin 3 and Masquintense. I get them off eBay as they're cheaper. A pot of conditioner will last me the best part of a year. Shampoo about 6 months.

I've tried Bed Head and Redken and both were ***.

I dont think a lot of the Bed Head range to be honest. Nor do I the L'Oreal professional range. For salon bought products my favourite is Joico although it's not very widely stocked.

What range is it you have a sample of?

Kerastase and Paul Mitchell are good ones.

Being a hairdresser and having used many different brands before now I can honestly say I have never heard of it! But if it's doing the job..!
