Sam Smith - overrated

Same. Although it's not generally the type of music that i'm into anyway. I'm familiar with a few of his songs from the radio, but didn't really know any of them were him as such until a couple of weeks ago when that Tom Petty dispute cropped up.

Completely agree! I find him a bit meh.

I like a couple of his songs but when he sings I think of a 4 year old with tantrum whiney face on.

He was shopping with his stylist and one of their 'games' was to pretend that they hadn't seen each other in years, and have a loud reunion in every aisle of the supermarket. Another was getting Sam to lean over other shoppers to pretend to reach items, deliberately trying to get in their way as much as possible. No-one took the bait though, which prompted Sam to flat out ask his stylist, "Why is no-one recognising me?"

I actually think he fully deserved all of his awards at the Grammys. He's an amazing songwriter, singer and his album is freaking amazing.

How credible is that Popbitch thing? Given the name of the source, I wouldn't necessarily take it as gospel. ?

Lol, good point I've been getting the Popbitch newsletter for years and they have been first with celeb gossip several times in the past, but who knows, y'know. I think they do have some credible sources, but I'm sure there are people who make stuff up just cos they think it's funny. So hard to say.

I'm not bothered by either of them! My teenage daughter likes Ed Sheeran, she saw him live when she went to see Taylor Swift but I don't think she's that excited by Sam Smith either.

I think they both write well, but I'm not a fan of the way they sing.

I'm not an Ed Sheeran fan either, although I do like a couple of his songs. The A Team was bloody awful!

He has one song I like, You Need Me I Don't Need You. Although I suppose Don't is okay.

I love Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran. George Ezra sets my teeth on edge.

Not made my mind up about George Ezra. Seems inoffensive enough but may review my opinion if he gets overplayed every 2 minutes. The in-laws love him though!

I like George Ezra. I think his voice is a bit different.
