San Antonio Bay, Ibiza

Janjabean, 19 August, 2008 at 20:44 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 11

Hello chaps and chapesses (god, sorry!)

I've had to book a random week off in October (work is crap at allowing holidays so had to grab one of the only weeks left!!) and I've just found a week in Ibiza (San Antonio Bay) for £244 for both of us!! Flights AND accommodation!

Has anyone been? What's the weather like in October (better than here I'll warrant ya!) and what is San Antonio Bay like? I'm too old for the 'Izit izit wicked' side of Ibiza so just wondered if anyone had some experiences they'd like to share?

Ta!!

xx

We went to Ibiza 8 October last year and had pretty sh1t weather. With the Balearics the weather can be unpredictable in October. We did have some sun but a lot of cloud and rain too. Haven't been to San Antonia Bay. We always go to Santa Eulalia which is lovely.

I thank you Sunset! The weather isn't tooooo much of an issue I guess (thank you for the info). I may look up Santa Eulalia and see if there are any hotels/apartments there for reasonable money. Thanks again!

I have satyed in Santa Eulalia , San Antonio bay & San Antonio town.

I would choose Santa Eulalia over the Bay as the beaches are nicer and the atmosphere nicer if you don't want the party schene

I actually prefer San Antonio as I like to party too :-)

I think it's all the closing parties in October so you'd probably be best to check when they are and avoid going then. Unless of course you want to go to the closing parties, they're generally a quite wild! ?

My sister and her husband lived in San Antonio for around 10 years. They moved on to Tenerife 12 years ago as Ibiza sort of closes for the winter which didn't suit her OHs job as a night club singer. October is a bit late, although any holiday is usually good, and better than none.

October will be the closing parties but the main town will be quiet as it will be full of pretty people going to all the big clubs so you should be safe on an evening and be able to listen to some good chilled tunes on the beach if you get the little ferry from the bay to the Bar M beach during the day.

I'd imagine it will be hit and miss with the sunshine that time of year, thats a bloody good deal though - we have paid 270 each for a weeks time.

I've been to San Antonio bay but it was perhaps about 15 years ago, and it was lively but not as lively as San Antonio itself.

We stayed in a crap hotel, and i remember my sister had an ear infection all the time we were there. It was not one of the best holidays i've had.

It was may/june when we went i think and the weather was OK, but not mega hot. I have however been to Majorca in October which is still one of the Balaeric Islands and the weather was a bit poo TBH.

It's a cheap holiday, so it depends what you want from it really as to whether it's a good deal.

If i was going somewhere at that time of the year i'd try and go the Canary Islands as the weather will still be good then.

    Hiya Janjabean

We went to the Balearics (Magaluf) two years ago in October and the weather was great. Hot enough for shorts/bikini's during the day and just a light cardie at night. The beaches were packed. Cant comment on Ibiza im afraid as ive never been.

Hope you have a lovely time whatever the weather.

I've just been to Ibiza San ANtonio and it's great if you want to party but if not I wouldn't recommend it. I can imagine in October alot of it shuts as San Antonio is very much geared towards clubbing. In October you are better off going to Cyprus or the Canaries to get better weather. A few years ago my boyfriend and I went to Madira on a last min hol and it was beautiful. Gorgeous weather and a very pretty island.

When I was looking at flights for Ibiza, all the ones I could find were middle of the night. Does anyone know of an airline that goes at a sensible time? There must be one surely? ?
