Have you or are you going to send save the date cards out to your guest ? Is it a needs must ? I honestly am in a pickle because I don't know weither I should or shouldn't this aug? Would the guest end up really getting that offended ? Would it make them think they aren't that important? Or is it optional to skip the save the date cards and just stick to the wedding invitations? Thanks 😊

Hi. We are sending save the dates out because our wedding is the peak of summer. Our friends 6 weeks before aren’t sending any. It really depends on yourself. My friend got married last year and only sent half of her guests a save the date. I never received one but got the official invitation. What makes you think they will get offended? If they didn’t receive one? If you’re getting married a busy time of the year I would send one? Or just after Christmas as this is an expensive time of the year for people so gives them a heads up.

    Hi!
We aren't going to be sending anything by post. We've just sent everyone messages saying Save The Date and then we'll have our website for all the other info etc. It just saves on cost and we've got people all over the world so it gets pricey.
To be honest I think you can do whatever you want to do! ☺️

It depends on when and where your wedding is. If you are getting married mid week or in the holiday periods then you may want to give your guests more notice so they can plan annual leave/holidays. If you are getting married abroad then you may want to give your guests longer to find the best travel/accommodations options.

Save the dates don't have to be printed, we just spoke to our important guests on the phone to give them the date.

If you do want to do save the dates then you don't normally send them to evening guests because they don't need to keep the day free and they are the guests you are less worried about not being able to attend.

I checked with the most important people we really want to be there before we booked our venue, and then we've just text key people with what our wedding date was after we booked and confirmed venue, including a few friends who would have to travel from other countries. It just seemed like an extra cost we didn't need, plus we aren't sure how many people we can afford to have for the whole day.

We sent save the dates and it was really useful because a couple of people let us know straight away that they couldn’t come, which freed up space on the guest list for others.

One of my friends had a beautiful digital image made and just texted it to us all to save on costs.

As others have said it really depends on where and when you're wedding is as well as how far guests have to travel etc. We sent save the dates to around 60-70% of guests but it was simply just something I designed on the computer and sent via whatsapp/facebook. It doesn't need to be a formal paper card or anything like that.
