Save the Dates Etiquette

Danielle, 15 April, 2022 at 18:09 Posted on Etiquette and Advice 0 2

Hello, does anyone have any advice on how to make it clear on your save the dates who is actually invited (thinking plus ones, no kids for non-family)? The wedding is one year today (April 2023)

We don't have space on the Save the Date for names, they've got text/pictures on the front and back so I don't want to have to squeeze them on in pen.

Or am I totally overthinking this and it only matters for the proper invitation, and we have the wedding website to make it clear later on.

Thanks!

I had the same concern as you but have left this info off the save the dates as will put it on the actual invites.

I wouldn’t worry too much at this stage! We have already tried to (politely) spread the word as much as we can so no one is surprised when we ask that people don’t bring their children xx

We addressed the envelopes to just the adults, but didn't specify child free on the save the dates, we just did it on the invitations and had no issues. We sent the invitations out about four to five months prior which is plenty of time to get childcare! We also spread the word casually and didn't have a single person express surprise.
