Scam catering company - are you allowed to name and shame on here? (North West brides)

ABsolutely. It's good to warn other brides to be. The only time people get funny is when it's a completely new person with a first post, who never post again, that's always a bit dodgy.

Well ... we booked a hog roast company to cater for our evening reception (booked just under a year ago and paid £100 deposit).

I've been trying to contact them over the last few weeks without success so googled the company ... to find out they are scammers!

The original company was JDM hog roasts but they are now trading as Pork and Apple Events.

His name has changed from 'Jason' to 'Jay' now and they are letting people down on their wedding day, 25th anniversaries, garden parties ... he even called one at 1pm on the day of the event to not show up on the evening.

Our saving grace is that we've found out before our big day and have managed to find an alternative company, but I'd hate for any brides out there to be let down on their big day.

I've tried to get our deposit back ... but guess what? No reply!

Sorry to hear this but glad you have enough notice to make new arrangements.

Another good reason to have wedding insurance too!

Report them to the trading standards agency!

How did you pay them? Cheque, credit card?

If by credit card - get on to the card company and get your money back from them. If by cheque, you need to tell the TS office and report for fraud.

I'd also get on to Watchdog or that Rogue Traders programme! What scumbags, just out to cash in on ruining other people's special days! x
