Yeah sorry, i wasnt very clear. Probably a band that can do lots of cheesey music from the 60's and up; just as long as they get everyone dancing. It would also be great if they can do a short set of ceilidh dances too.

We spoke to a band (through hireaband) that were from Ayr - they were a 2-piece who did all live stuff - I cannot for the life of me remember their name though!

I would def check out hire a band as Nona suggests! They should be able to help!

When we were looking I was recommended hireaband.co.uk and also the band called nightshift. I've seen them in action at a friend's wedding and they were great (but booked already so can't play at ours).

When I asked I got lots of recommendations (frantically trying to remember them all). I have NO idea of Scotland's geography I'm afraid but I'm sure most bands play most of scotland. Anyway, I've heard Kilter is fantastic. They were also booked for our date but Ross was increadibly helpful when I called and we've got The Fabulous Shire boys playing at our wedding ... I've not seen them live but have heard a couple of their songs (ceilidh and cover) and they seem like they'll do the job.

Erm ... Camus are meant to be good (recommended on here by someone at the time)

Oh I just threw away a list of bands I liked and emailed - bad timing!!

Hope some of this helps anyway

Thanks for all your advice ladies, i will look into all those recommendations. I just got a quote from a band, at £1200! I know bands are expensive especially if they have to split the money between 5 players or so, but its just so much money!!!

    ? The search continues...xxx

    Hi,

We are getting married at the Seamill Hydro in July. The band we're having is a three piece band with female vocalist. They are called Reload, but also go under another name as a two piece. I saw them at my friend's wedding last year in Troon as a two piece and they were fab. £850 for the three piece, which isn't bad!

I know someone who is using Fudge Machine https://www.fudgemachine.uk/index.html in December.

I remember seeing them at a wedding fair in Glasgow a little while ago and they seemed very popular.

Someone else mentioned Fudge Machine, they're really good (incredible bass player). They are in the over £1000 category though.

My favourite band at the moment, number of members to cost ratio, entertainment and material wise is The Riffreshers. ETA I think they're around £1100 but there are 7 members.

    Hi Weedancer ?

    try Reload www.reloadmusic.co.uk

We once did a wedding fayre with them and they were a really good little outfit, three piece so they might be nearer the budget that you had in mind
