scrambled eggs - no milk?

flailing wildly, 12 May, 2009 at 21:05 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 8

I really fancy scrambled eggs on toast. Only scrambled eggs on toast will do. But the shop is shut, I'm already in my PJ's, and I don't have any milk ?

Is there anything that would work instead of milk? Any suggestions welcome. Bear in mind that a house which doesn't have milk doesn't have much else of anything in the cupboards ?

Thanks!

I don't add milk to scrambled eggs but do add a knob of butter at the end whilst the eggs are 20% liquid still and take them off the heat.

You dont need anything other than the eggs, on slimming world you do milkless usually as you only have milk as a small allowance

Or you could always mash them in a cup with butter and black pepper...?

I remember arguing with my domestic science teacher at school that scrambled egg was made without milk. She wouldn't have it but I refused to add any. ? I've never used milk. Eggs, a knob of butter, salt and pepper. All you need. Yum. I think that's breakfast sorted. ?

I really fancy scrambled egg now ....... you've got my taste buds going.

Mum used to make scrambled egg for breakfast sometimes when we were growing up, and would add some milk to make the mix go further around the four of us. But I never add milk when I cook them at home.

Hope you enjoyed your breakfast [envy icon]

I'm another who never adds milk to scrambled eggs, or only a drop. The trick to avoiding the 'hacked up omlette' finish is to cook them really, really slowly - over the lowest setting for about 20 minutes or so. It makes them lovely and creamy ?
