Scratch cards as favours?

CCtobe, 7 August, 2008 at 12:23 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hi all, I don't know where I read about this idea but it seems to have stuck in my mind. I don't want the normal almonds/sweets type thing as every wedding I've been to I end up throwing those away.

I can't decide if the scratch card idea is tacky? We were thinking to get those with a maximum £3000-ish win, then if anyone does win big then we won't be too jealous! (Sorry if that sound selfish to some of you).

What do people think? Ta in advance. x

I think its a fine idea! The favours won't go to waste! You could get normal lottery tickets and then do an announcement of the numbers in the evening! Make an mini-event of it! Of course then you run the risk of someone winning a couple of mil!!!!?

This is what I am doing. You can buy lottery envelopes that double up as place cards and they are 15p each. I am doing lottery tickets and an announcement in the evening as Penguin suggested! xx

The other advantage to lottery tickets rather than scratchcards is that you won't get those horrible wee dirty scratchings all over your tables ? but yes, I think it's a great idea and a much better use of £1 than some other tacky favours ?

The £20 one came from the Isle of Wright whilst i was visiting family. I thought i'd won the lottery , i was jumping up & down on the ferry , very sad.

I'd much rather a lottery ticket or scratch card than something that will just get stuck in a drawer when I get home...
