Second thoughts on the dress

LC to be, 5 September, 2012 at 09:14 Posted on Planning 0 12

I'm having a mild panic about my dress at the moment. I'm not sure if made the right decision. I was in between two towards the end, two completely different styles

Maggie Sotero Jovi

Essence of Australia D1266

In the end I went with the Essence one but now I keep seeing pics of the other one and wondering if was right thing to do.

Bascially, am wondering if anyone else on here has decided on a dress, put a deposit on, and then worried about it afterwards.

I can't change my mind now as I can't afford to lose the deposit, as was 50% of the price for the dress.

'I can't change my mind now as I can't afford to lose the deposit, as was 50% of the price for the dress'

This answers your own question anyway but stop panicking. Both dresses are beautiful but the essence one must have had something about it when you tried it on-you have made the right decision so just enjoy the lead up to wearing it Smiley smile

I am sure we all have worries we made the wrong decision but that's because it's such a hard decision to make. I have chosen my dress and I am not looking at others as its too easy to get stressed about. When you try your dress on again you will know why you chose it and that you made the right decision Smiley smile x

    I did this !!

Just hours after having left a £300 deposit on my dress I found myself gripped with fear that I had made the wrong decision. I eventually went back to try it on 2 weeks later and my fears where totally unfounded as I still loved the MY dress.

With hindsight I'm sure its was all just due to having committed to the choice after all it is alot of cash for the most important dress your ever likely to buy.

Go back and try yours on again and all the reasons why you chose it will come flooding back to you.

    Regards

They are both beautiful dresses so I'm sure whichever one you have chosen is stunning. My personal favourite is the second one but as I said that is my personal choice. As others have said it is too late to change your mind now anyway so stop panicing and focus on how gorgeous you are going to be Smiley smile

Both dresses are beautiful, I am the Lace Queen so I prefer the second one bu tthe first one gives a beautiful shape and has gorgeous details so you can't lose either way really!

I'm still having the occasional dress wobble but it's too late for me, the dress is 100% paid for and is just waiting in the shop for me...7 months and 7 days to go!!!

Thank you for your responses! It's so nice to know that this is normal and that I'm not just freaking out.

I remember chosing the 2nd one as it was something completely different to anything I'd seen in previous shops or weddings I'd been too. The only doubt in my mind was that in my head I'd visualised something very similar to the 1st dress when I started shopping.

I think I just need to forget about the Maggie Sottero dress and focus on the one I have, as like was pointed out if I can't afford to lose the deposit I've kind of answered my own problem.

I think it's common to have wobbles. I had to stop looking at pictures of mine online because the more I looked the more I wanted something else. I hadad my first fitting and loved it!

I think you have made the right choice btw.

You made your decision based on what YOU looked like in both the dresses, dont let the glamorous model picture give you wobbles! in fact stop looking at the other dress completely! On your wedding day I can guarantee you're not going to be thinking about it!

Yep this was me, paid £500 and then had a mini melt down that it wasnt right and that I rushed in to it (I ONLY tired on 20 dresses!) but when I saw it again when I went back for my measurements and tried it on again I remembered why I loved it, I went throught the same emotions a few weeks ago when it came to my first fitting!

I remember reading all the threads on here about brides getting dress wobbles before I had bought my dress When I found my "one" I was convinced I would never have wobbles. However, a couple of weeks later and i was look at the pic of me in the dress, found some other brides in my dress too and had a major meltdown! I'm still not really over it but as my wedding is in just over 4 weeks, there is nothing I can do and in reality, it's a perfectly lovely dress. I think I would have ended up having wobbles no matter what dress I had chosen.
