Self catered wedding liabilities

Hi my brother is getting married next year at a wedding venue and has decided he would like to do the catering himself. I am worried about liability etc. can anyone provide me with some info about what he would need if he was to do this?

Best people to ask are the venue. But I think its very problematic for them because they could be held liable for and food poisoning. I remember there was a period a while back when back off was in its prime and a couple of weddings did a competition type thing for guests to bring in there own cakes. But that fell fowl of the same issue as its the venue that would be serving it and therefore liable.
You brother would potentially need hygiene certificates/ health and safety and probably his own insurance.
