*sens* mahoosive swollen hands - argh!

Hmm not sure, the only time I get swollen hands is when I exercise loads and get really hot. Are you warm at all?

My hands swell when I'm hot. Could you try frozen peas or something on them?

Jeez. Things have spiralled a bit in the last hour! My legs have also gone massive out of nowhere. I called the oncology helpline and they want me to go into A+E coz of my chemo - I only had it yesterday after a week off last week... Bottoms. Pretty sure it's just a precaution and my sea bass is currently going to waste for no good reason. However, can I turn this into a vibes thread please?!?! They work wonders. H is away and I feel a bit teary ☹️

My H's hands swelled when he was on chemo, though not massively. I don't know what drugs you are on, but it could be a side effect of that? Either see your GP or call your oncologist/specialist nurse/whoever tomorrow for advice.

Edit: eep, sorry to read this update! Hope A&E is alright and they get things sorted for you soon!

Update *poss sensitive*

After that last message i wrote things went a bit crazy - my temperature rocketed and i got very deliriou etc. My bloods came back very iffy so they think i've picked up an infection. Anyways i've been admitted and on an anti biotic drip which is improving things dramatically. A nurse said something about a blood transfusion - I was still a bit out of it and wasnt really listening! I'm sure i'll find out more this morning. Looks like i'm stuck here for a while!

I had no idea when i started this thread (and was putting my hands in the freezer...) that things would kick off like this. I think i should pit a sensitive warning on it - how?! Sorry if anyone has been upset

Just a little funny story that i remember - when the nurse was trying to snap me out of things last night she was asking me all sorts of qs. I was really struggling to get my sentences out so when she asked me how old i was it seemed like far too much effort to say i was 28.... so i told her i was 2. Ha!!

Arrgghh that's so rubbish for you. Still, glad the drip is doing its job, fingers crossed you won't have to have a transfusion eh? Here's hoping you're home soon and being pampered and spoiled by all who love you xx

You poor thing, it all happened so fast! Are you neutropaenic? Really hope that things pick up soon and you're not in for too long.

Oh heavens, glad you were already in hospital. Being at home alone and those develpments would have been worse. Hope you are now feeling a bit better and the anti-bio. sort you out without any need for anything else.
